Spoke with middle fledgling and girlfriend yesterday and they are both well on the mend from their bout of Covid thankfully.

Today we're off to my Aunt and Uncle's taking along a cake to have an early celebration of her 90th as we won't be here for the 'big day'.
We're picking up my older sister too, so it should be a fun time.

Morning folk. How about a cute cheery Piglet this morning.

It is grey, damp, breezy but warm at 16c going to 20c. I don't envy all those of you with frost, ice and snow.

We start the week again without landline/internet, car and plant. However, I have my money back for the plant, nearly 33 Euros.

J has dentist this afternoon for the next stage of the root canal.

Good day,
It is 29f -2 and seems to be cloudy. It's a bit dark yet so the only thing that really stands out, is the snow covered roofs.

@Victoria I was sorry for you having no wifi, etc but now I'm downright angry. This is well beyond a reasonable length of time for them to attend to the repairs!

I've got all the cookies except the gingerbread done so only have the mince and cherry tarts left to do. The dough and pastry are mixed and warming up to room temperature after a night in the fridge. I won't bake until after 11 as the electricity rate before then is wicked. Gingerbread cookies will be baked but not decorated until tomorrow. I need lots of time to do that as I am a little ham fisted when it comes to doing the icing.I thought I had cut down on how many trays I was going to make but somehow I'm still up at 16. I'll take a pic before I start delivering on Friday.

Before it's time to bake, I'll get out this morning and buy some more cranberries to make sauces, some hot and some not. I'll to can them for little stocking stuffer gifts. And I used up my kilo of chocolate chips so I need to get some more to have in the pantry.

I went onto facebook marketplace to search for a couple of steam irons. Two granddaughters invested in sewing machines but they don't have irons which are a must if you want your projects to come out nicely. New irons are expensive so I've got my eye on a couple in the FB realm.

Better get a wriggle on here.

Good morning, how are you all today?

We had a lovely day yesterday and enjoyed our visit to my Aunt and Uncle's. It did get a tad confusing at times as they both get a bit muddled, bless them.
My sister and I had to try and work who they were talking about half the time !! I think most of the time we were able to suss it out though.....I think!


Much milder night last and it was surprisingly noticeable too.

Today is just going to be a pottering day, doing a bit of this and that, it could be indoors or out depending on how the weather is and how I feel.

Morning. No changes here. No landline, no car, no plant. Apparently plant was attempted to be delivered yesterday ... in Albufeira about 30 minutes from me!!!

J finished with dentist. Went well ... so well he didn't even have injection ... unheard of so obviously a good new dentist.

J has haircut this afternoon. I have cancelled mine as I don't wish to go out in this weather and am happy for it to grow a bit for the winter. I did this last year.

It is forecast for a wet and windy day with perhaps a storm so I am staying in the warm.

It's nice you still have an aunt and uncle. I have nobody in that generation now. I am one of the oldest in my family. All the previous generation on both sides (and both sides of B's family too) have passed on.
Oh dear, this has made me feel quite sad now ... I miss them so much

I hope the situation improves for you @Victoria, it must be difficult without a car.
I don't believe in short hair !

Neither of us have any family left either. Well perhaps Cousins way down the line in other counties we never have had contact with. We were never family-orientated anyway moving from coutry to country. Cats have always been our family.

We have my car, a classic convertible.
It is very grey, wet and windy here ... but both furries are out!

Aw bless you, my Dad was quite proud to inform everyone that he was officially the 'Head' of our extended family.

We have 2 Aunts and 1 Uncle ( Aunt's husband) .

We do have 6 1st cousins who we keep in contact with and numerous 2nd ones that we haven't heard from in years..

Just think of us here as family......( I'm sure you won't be the oldest member ).
