    Bom Dai Vicky.:noidea::smile:

The actual train journey is an hour and a quarter and possibly on a good day about an hour from Waterloo by bus ( 2 buses and a very short walk) to A's door but with strikes happening all around...:noidea:!
We can always get a cab if need be.....but really I'm on a mission ( but only I know this ;)) to see if all my planning works out, so I would like to try and stick with buses. I feel that getting a cab across London would be ' cheating ' and not such a challenge.:heehee: I set myself the challenge of getting through the last minute Christmas mayhem of Waterloo and Central London with an easily stressed hubs.....and yes Vicky an airline suitcase too !! Whoa betide anyone getting in the way of a stressful hubs in the driving seat of a wheeled suitcase!!! :roflol:

Secretly I think it will be a fun challenge and I say ' I'm ready for it...bring it on!!!! ' I will have to wear tiny headphones so I can't hear the grumbles from hubs...and blinkers so I can't see his moody expressions!! I'm setting you a good visual image here!!:roflol:

Oh gosh I'm making it sound an horrendous ordeal but I'm crossing everything possible that with my extensive ott planning ...with pictures :blue thumb::heehee:..everything will go well. :fingers crossed::fingers crossed::fingers crossed:

Enjoy your drive out to Loule, I've had a Google , always the nosy one, it looks interesting and with a lot of history . How far from you is it? xx

I think I'll have to wipe it off myself @CanadianLori, there's too much to evaporate in this damp weather. I'm going to find my dehumidifier to put in there when I can get past the junk in my shed.

I hope your travel plans work out @Upsydaisy.

      Enjoy your trip @Victoria.

          Will come back on return.
We won't stop for sightseeing, just to find the Municipal Building. Guesstimate about an hour. We will go Messines to Loule, I think, back road.

            Good day
It is still pitch and just below freezing 29f -2c so still not very cold. The guessers say that the sun will try to peep at us here and there today. I hope so. The battery bank needs the input.

@Michael Hewett I found microfiber cloths the best for wiping clear surfaces. Wet and thoroughly wrung out, they do collect a lot of water and tend to not leave a bunch of streaks.

I didn't get the pink/guest bedroom done yesterday because I decided instead to make wine jellies. One batch with hot chilies and one without. They are all canned and most of them are in 4oz salt and pepper shaker style jars - this is a pic of the actual jars.
[IMG] I also have the metal canning lids for these and I put the white lid in a cellophane bag which is then heat sealed to keep it clean. Then after they're processed, I tape the plastic "shaker" lid to the jar. This way people can reuse the jar :) I buy the jars in bulk from Fillmore Containers in Milwaukee.

So in a few minutes, I will vacuum the rooms up here and then shower and be ready to spend the rest of the morning on the main floor, puttering while watching/listening to my show. [IMG]

            Cheers all :coffee:

Trip took 45 minutes going via Algoz - Guia - Bolequeime - Loule. There was parking directly to the side of the building (The Tribunal - Courthouse) and the two-story carpark next door across the side street ... but the roads, paths and walkways are all cobbled so we will take the wheelchair as I can't walk on cobbles! That is how I subluxed my knee in the first place! So, we are both happy with the journey.

Had lunch, me half a cheese and Branston sandwich and cup of tea, so now we will watch some Christmas movies.

They are on the way. Tell J to enjoy!

Since the wine is only watered down with 1 tablespoon lemon juice, I label the jars, "Jolly Jelly" :) It is nice on a slice of baguette with a spread of cream cheese and then the jelly on top. Or with pork instead of apple sauce or with chicken. Or if used on toast, it then becomes happy toast. :heehee: Seriously though, the jars only hold 4oz so no one is going to get tipsy on one of these but 6, maybe a little buzz!

                          Good morning all.

Lori I have to say that your Jolly Jelly sounds jolly good indeed!!

Dare I say it ... we have a dreary wet day here again today ( sorry Michael) Yuk!!

Off to my brother's this morning, no doubt we'll get soaked through.

We will get home about 1:30pm. Then I really must do our laundry this afternoon so that it's ready to be hung out first thing tomorrow. I held off doing it earlier because I noted that Tues is supposed ( :fingers crossed:) to be a dry day.

That's my day's plan of action. Hopefully nothing will change it.

                          Have a good Monday everyone.

                          :spinning:

Morning all. We both slept for about seven hours each ... unheard of!!!

It promises to be a nice day here but nothing special on the cards except J going to check the postbox, a 14km round trip journey.

Enjoy your visit Upsy and trust it goes well. xx

Have a good one Lori, Karen and Michael.

I know what you mean @Upsydaisy I would prefer some nice sunshine too (but it has to be warm )

I did go out but only shopping, and I made some coasters to give as gifts.
I'm hoping to take some today, to friends of my parents who I keep in touch with. They live in a near-by village.
I'll put photos of the coasters on the creative thread after I've taken pictures of them.

                              Thanks @Victoria you too
Hope you are both ok @CanadianLori and @Flumpy ... This is the only non-gardening thread I look at but I don't get around to it every day. (But I say the weather sometimes if there's anything worth reporting.) I'm not very organised

                                Good day
It is mild again! 29f -2c and the sun is supposed to peep out a few times today. We'll see :th scifD36:

I'm going to get showered and out the door in a few minutes. I have to return something to a shop and they open at 7 so I plan to be one of the first in line. I'll pick up a few other things while I'm there. The new full sized ironing board cover is into a shop and ready for pick up. The shop about 8k from me and also very near Costco. Neither store opens before 9:30 so that trip will happen later.

I'm going to make a new cover for the compact ironing board which will be for Sam as she lives in a tiny condo. Here is the fabric I'm going to use. :)
