That is awful @NigelJ :yikes: Hope you get them before everywhere closes for the hols.

Fortunately I don't require any meds but I know that my older sister is having issues with her pending prescriptions too.

I have repeat prescriptions sent through the post, but if the doctor gives me a one off I can get Lloyd's direct to send me a barcode that I can take to the pharmacy to get the prescription filled.

Last time I was given a long code number which I took to the pharmacy and they found the prescription by tracing it somehow.

Of course none of this works if the computers are down.

I went to private Consultant on Thursday and he gave me six -month prescription printed out. When I got home there was copy of the prescription (SNS/NHS) in my e-mail. If holidays fall on Sundays here, it is Tough Tootie for the worker, no moving things to Fridays/Mondays. We can take our prescription to any Pharmacy, go from one to another if need be.

I used to get my repeat as a 6 month block, but they don't do that at my surgery anymore, it's all gone paperless.
Apart from when it reaches the pharmacy as they then appear to print it out.
Must admit the pharmacy appears to be pretty chaotic, with prescriptions in about 5 different places once printed.

You can use any pharmacy here too Vicky but at the moment the big issue seems to be insufficient medication available to meet the required prescribed prescriptions. Once it's in 'the system' and processing has begun.... changing to another pharmacy seems to cause problems. :noidea:

Not a big surprise; I expect some companies or individuals are getting even richer from the situation somehow

A fourth trip to the pharmacy and bingo got everything, GP had amended prescription and sent it through. Just forgot to text or ring me to let me know.

Regarding strikes what's happened to ACAS? I seem to recall a while back often hearing ACAS were holding talks with both sides individually, then together and then a deal being done.

Apparently they don't need ACAS as the rise was advised by the independent review body.
You know the one appointed by the government.

Apparently that body takes it's independence quite seriously and the NHS has never had an issue with their recommendations before :dunno:

I did hear something yesterday that said this pay rise was sorted out earlier in the year before inflation became so bad.
I just wonder if this wage rise is backdated or due to start in April.

Apparently it went on to say that new negotiations are due to start soon for the next pay rise.
