I love the idea of the climbing Gloxinia and still have two double Datura seed packs and some Zinnia, but not sure how the latter will do here.

Zinnia should do well for you, they like it warm.
A bit drought resistant as well.

Ah, I remember the 'problem' with Zinnias here ... an annual, but maybe they will like to be perennials here.

Ordered 9 lilium African Queen bulbs and 30 in the green snowdrops, should come soon.
Today hubby got a bag of compost, it was old stock from a local garden centre, it's always kept outside.

No, I've been put off by cold snaps for years but usually bounce back after I get over the initial disappointment, cold snaps actually help to point out what will survive and what wont, had some surprises over the years of so called non hardy plants survive and the opposite, especially these days, on the internet you get lots of people telling you something is hardy only to find they are growing it in a micro climate.

I dont expect the Sutherlandia to be hardy, but might be worth a try.

I'm probably a bit long in the tooth to be growing Yucca rostrata from seed as well.

You will have your work cut out @pete with all those packets of seeds to sow, then prick out, grow on & repot till they reach a decent size! :rolleyespink:
