    Good day
It is 27f -3c and snowing. There is only about 2 inches on the ground and it is a very fine snow. Certainly not much to worry about for someone like me who doesn't have to drive into work in a rush hour.

@Flumpy sorry to hear about your migraine.

@Upsydaisy and @Victoria I was never allowed to put anything on the wall. I was never allowed to sit on the bed during the day as it might wrinkle it. And I was never allowed to have friends in the house which saved me from the embarrassment of someone seeing my bare room. If I wanted to play in the house, I had to play in the cellar. Cold and damp. Being outside was better.

@Victoria I tried the pressing the bread and rolling. It didn't work out so great. I used a rolling pin. Is this the time I should use the sliced soft (cheap) store bought for pinwheel sandwiches? Thank you for your input.

I have a small amount of shopping to do today and I plan to get the whole trip done within an hour.

    Cheers all :coffee:

      Morning Lori.

Oooooooo!!! Snow , now I certainly wouldn't mind a flake or two of that. :snowing:

That's a tad sad Lori, I had one friend at junior school and her friends weren't allowed in her house either. Thankfully we were never offered drinks and plus we had young bladders too!!:heehee: We didn't even have the shelter of a cellar..only their back garden.

      Have an enjoyable day.:)

I don't remember being allowed in the bedroom unless it was bedtime. I also don't remember having friends in the house, either in the UK with my Aunt or America with my Father.

Oh yes Lori, it is best with store bought squidgy bread. Here we get Bimbo from Spain. To me, Portugal is in its element with home-made breads not commercial breads.

Yes, the largest selling brand of bread here is Bimbo too. Hard to believe a Mexican based bakery grew to such a huge international company!

@Victoria thanks for letting me know what I need to do. I would have been upset if I'd gotten to the morning of and discovered I couldn't do the spirals! I've brought up all the glass platters and will figure out what fits best on each one. I have a pretty glass cake stand and will look for a tiered server too.

@Upsydaisy - playing in the cellar was a solitary time but sometimes my brother would come down there too- no friends allowed inside.

Upsy, by boonies I mean here ... not a good aerial view, but we are about half a mile up the road from Frango Durado Restaurant on the top far right, and J met John at Fonte de Loureiros on the far left, which they will make their 'second choice' for meets. Fonte de Loureiros is a crossroads with the bar/cafe so all locals (men). On the bottom is Ribalta which I like but J went off it so it is a 'no go' now.

Interesting map @Victoria . Thank you for sharing.

I've just found a recipe for making clotted cream. So I think I'm finished my researching for tea party supplies. :spinning:

In remember that old song, had it on an old tape or CD at some point, but from the words of the song I worked out it meant the old saying from the "wrong side of town" or I thought they also said the "wrong side of the tracks".
I didn't know it meant "out in the sticks" as we would call it here.

Boonies almost sounds like an Australian version of the word.

Thanks Vicky , I love looking at maps of areas I heard about. You can digest the info that you've gathered on places and get a good feel for the lay of the land so to speak.

This is how I feel this morning.

The sun is up and the sky is blue, the air is fresh at 10c going to 17c.

They brought J's car back yesterday just before he got home from lunch at 3pm.

Upsy, all the green on the map are orange groves. The rest is scrubland, basically land dotted with almond, fig or other trees.

Nothing on the agenda today here.

I agree with @pete that it infers the wrong side of the tracks but we have always known it as out in the back of beyond.

Morning all….just!, glad your all well and seem to be keeping busy.

Lori I too didn’t have posters on my wall, we also didn’t play in our bedrooms, they where only for sleeping in, and we weren’t allowed TV in our rooms, if we wanted to watch it, we watched in the living room, I have no complaints of my childhood just happy memories :imphrt:

well it’s been blowing a Gail here all week and still is. My head is still niggling so just had some more Paracetamol

Upsydaisy just curious to know why you have a Aggressive face on?,

Vicky I like your Arial view :) sounds like your having nice weather there, can you send some this way please? :spinning:

@Flumpy Good morning Karen. I was wondering if you ever tested out how many steps you walk while at work?

Yes, we are having good weather but could do with a bit more rain ... I will exchange with you, mt sun for your rain.

                            Enjoy your weekend.

                              Good day
It is 14f -10c and very still. I hope a breeze blows up and pushes these clouds out! We have not had a sunny day since December 21st for heaven's sake!!

@Victoria I was wondering why some areas looked so lush compared to their neighbours. What type of oranges are grown there please?

I've got the first load of clothes in the washer and today will be a day of baking. Max (autistic grandson) needs some more gluten free cookies for his school lunches and there are several other things to play around with.

I think I'll barbecue some sausages and other things so as to have grilled suppers to cheer me up in this gloomy weather. It is a bit hard getting the frozen cover back on the barbecue when I'm done but the taste of the meats makes for great comfort foods. :)

                              Cheers all :coffee:
