Vicky here at our local Private Nuffield Hospital ( where my sister had both knees done) the the first consultation is £ 100 ...no time length is stipulated this is without insurance.

I was thinking of going there to get my knee sorted last year but the NHS were so quick..less than a month from my initial app to having the surgery done that I didn't have to bother.:)

That sounds reasonable. There is actually no time limit on the appointments here. They do/say what they have to and have time for your questions so you could be quick and then maybe you won't be. ;) There's lots of greetings on arrival and departure too.

Thank you @pete and @Victoria yes he'll have it done on the 30th of this month or on the 6th of next. He said that it's small and will be easy to do.
I know that waiting times were always long and in the 80s when i had trouble trying to see a urologists it was a year before i could see someone. So went private and it was £35. Then i had a few tests with the NHS, after i had to wait about 2 months for the treatment with the NHS, didn't do much good after I had it.

Watched Sleepless in Seattle ... again almost 30 years later. Slow starting but good.

Been watching Bill Pullman the past couple of weeks hosting the brilliant Yellowstone programmes.

Slicing and packing the 3 pork loins that were dry-curing over the last few days. We've now got enough lovely back bacon to last a year. Next on the list...slicing gammon steaks :)

Finished my little bit of tidying to the indoor grow area in the cellar so have been researching places to day trip within a 100k radius of me for when my group of ladies have our monthly get togethers. This month is the kick off for the year with an event planning and afternoon tea party. It is a lot of work to research these places because where admission is not free, the costs of visiting needs to be listed so we can make affordable decisions. And they never have that price on the main page of their website.

There is a string of films that have just been released that I am hoping to see over the next month and the 1st I was able to see today.
Sad but 'enjoyable ' if it's appropriate to use that word. As expected the songs were amazing.

I went out to swap the number plates on the car and put my personal plate on. What should have taken ten minutes (including drilling holes in the new plates) took almost two hours. I couldn't get one screw out of the rear number plate. I think it was a security screw but after 13 years the head was too rusty to tell. Eventually, I used a centuries-old engineering method. Hammer and chisel. The new plates went on okay.
Did the business with DVLA and tomorrow I have just to inform my insurance.

We both went to the dentist, the hygienist, they're back to normal now with what they do and use.
Came back to have fruit crumble and ice cream, then walk the boys and got really cold.

Ice cream!!!:yikes: Think I would feel cold after that too. Brrrrrr!!

We had a letter last Friday notifying us that our Dental Practice is going private as from 1st April. We've been with them for almost 40yrs, although it has changed hands twice in that time, last was being bought by a national dental business. Over the last couple years one by one each individual Dentist that works there has gone private. Now they all have.

I remember ours going private before we left the UK and we had been with them 20 years. All Dentists here are private but charge reasonably, the Portuguese ones moreso than the foreign ones.
