Latest Moan From You and Me 2023

When we lived in south Europe we had a security light fitted on the wrap around balcony. It had a temperature sensor that was clever enough to ignore cats and birds but to go on if a human being was on our balcony.

Unfortunately, it wasn't that clever when the summer temperatures reached 35+. Well, at least we had nicely lit balcony for all summer.

 

I hate light pollution and had similar issues with my neighbour's light in my last house. With a lot of cats in the neighbourhood their light was continually on and off every night. Even with blackout lining on my bedroom curtains it still lit the room up each time.

Here I have four ordinary outside lights. Two are never used, one rarely and the other over my porch only when callers are expected. Other than that it's pitch black here at night, with the exception of the summer months, when it doesn't get totally dark.

 

How come I need to take photo id to vote in person and yet to get a postal vote I just need to sign a form with my address and my DOB.

 

I think there were cases of people voting more than once in certain areas,not 100% sure how they were doing it.
If people didn't do that kind of thing they wouldn't need to come up with more bureaucracy.

 

I'm not voting again, it cost to much to drive to the vote station and any way no good one's to vote for so they can stick it now

 

But what about the one's that don't vote and someone in the know votes in your name with out you know it??? this has alway crossed my mind, is there a way to find out if some one have used your name?

 

I think it might have been a case of collusion or possibly identity theft, for a couple of minutes, just long enough time to vote.

 

Probably why they have brought in the need for photo ID.

 

Well I think it was in the news a couple of years ago that certain individuals were, shall we say, trying to alter the outcome of by elections in possibly somewhere like Birmingham, maybe, could have been further north, can't remember the actual area now, it was one of those sensitive issues that the news people tend not to report on too much.
