In other words I don't want the pot or the compost, just the bulbs. Also not keen on paying more than a fiver per bulb, however I'd like a nice colour selection to choose from.

Can anyone recommend any good online stores please?

@TheMadHedger I presume you mean Hippeastrum (South American species, many colours flowers winter/spring) rather than Amaryllis (South African species limited colour range, autumn flowering).
If Hippeastrum many places will not be selling them at the moment as they are in full growth and you would be better to wait until the summer.
Also you may have to increase the budget to get different colours.

I never grew Hippeastrum as a winter flowering bulb, at least not after year one.
They flower much better in summer and dormant and cool in winter.

For some reason there is an obsession for winter flowering where they grow really leggy in the poor light levels.
I agree with Nigel regarding them not being on sale at this time of the year, usually available in the Autumn.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I meant Hippeastrum.

I have grown them for more than 40 years now! I got my very first as a Christmas present from one of my sisters, then, 40 years to the day, my son gave me one for Christmas '22! I've never forced them to flower outside their normal flowering period, though I have sometimes staggered planting them & so got flowers for longer. About 2 or 3 years ago I had about a hundred pots of them - all at different stages of growth.

I've even grown them from my own seeds on a couple of occasions & performed a hybridizing experiment when a lady from the USA sent me - without previous warning - some tiny plastic bags of pollen from her Amaryllis! I got a few plants to set seed & then some of them for her to grow but I've never heard back from her so I've no idea if she grew a few of the seeds or not. But I had an embarrassing amount of seeds! I never could get anyone else to give them a try! Probably because you have to wait about 4 years before you get your first flowers!

I've only ever bought 3 bulbs & that was way back in October 2001 when the first international street market was held in the town where I live. All the 100s & 100s of bulbs I've grown over the last 20 years came from those 3 bulbs! They multiply faster than rabbits!

Sounds like you're the Amaryllis King. :-)

Besides seeds how do you get more bulbs from the 3 originals?

I've also grown them from seed in the past, worked quite well.
The bulbs produce offsets, like daffodils, you separate these when repotting and grow on separately to flowering size.

That's how I got so many bulbs from the three originals! That is besides the seeds I sowed that went on to flower & produce more offsets over time! I just couldn't bring myself to throw them away!
