Good morning everyone, and another lovely one it is too!! despite a bit of early morning mist still hanging around.


As it was such a lovely day yesterday we ended up staying out so I am definitely determine to get some of the salad seeds sowed today.

It was like a summer's day yesterday walking up the whole length of our lane...apart from the fact that the trees were still bare of course. The hedgerows were full of chirping birds !!

It is 31f -1c and going to get warmer We won't have any sun today but it is promised for tomorrow.

I don't know if you've heard we've had trouble with China spying on us again. I don't know why, we're so boring! And now..


I've got a day of puttering and a little bit of shopping. Totally ho hum.

A very frosty Good Morning to everyone ..brrrrr! We dipped to -4C last night.

This afternoon I'm walking over to a friend's house to meet her and then we're going to a little local cafe....which just happens to be attached to a scrummy bakery.

I might make a start on sifting some of the compost this morning. (when the sun hits the greenhouse)...burn some calories to make way for cake later.

It is very mild, 35f 2c and cloudy. It is weird to have such a warm February. Most nights it does go down to the the 20'sF so the days tease me and the nights are reinforcing the fact that it is still winter and will be for another 2 months.

@Victoria I'm sad to see that you're still having the stress of internet outages. J needs to take you to a restaurant where they have free wifi and where they will allow you to sit, sip on something and catch up.

My cards all cut at swords. Swords is rarely nice future guessing. So, I'll make up my own, happier interpretation for today.

I did get started on the romper and will try to finish it today. It's an interesting pattern and is going to get me to use the sewing machine, the serger, the coverstitch and the blind hemmer. A good little exercise.

I am hooked up via a SIM card in a mobile but the problems were locally in the house. J went out and bought a new Android and has successfully connected. He was going to buy it yesterday but had a brainstorm and after working on his brainstorm for 3-4 hours without success decided he had to go back and buy such gizmo! MEO says we will be up and running by 8pm Friday J hasn't seen anyone on the lane or in the orchards yet. We are okay at the moment with the new gizmo.

We've lost our wall to wall sunshine today but nevertheless it's looking pretty OK for the time of year.

I had a great afternoon with a friend and it was pleasant enough to allow us to sit outside at the cafe.We made plans to meet up again in about 6 wks time to celebrate her birthday. It's better to set a date now otherwise time slips by without us doing so... and before we know it Christmas has come again!!

First day this week that we have no set plans so garden/ greenhouse here I come.

However if my sister is free I won't rule out maybe popping over for a natter at some point.

Just now got on line ... been trying since 7.45. J says I am too far from connection in lounge so having to run off his phone as he is not affected by the major problem. I am fed up with this but have no options. especially since I have been awake since 3.45.

Had rain in the night and might get a little more this morning but that's all for us. Garden is loving it.

@Victoria I picture you going through this . Not a nice situation. I hope they get on with fixing it. They did promise for tomorrow so I hope that is the "worst case" scenario.

I've got a bit of shopping to do today and one place I'm going has the bright and heated underground parking so certainly no slogging in the wet until I get home. I sometimes wish my van had a catapult to throw things in the front door! Oh well, it's sure a lot nicer than snow and ice

I mostly finished the romper. Didn't like the fit but then realized there is more of me than there should be. We'll see how it looks a few pounds down the road.

Working okay in the lounge. J walked up the lane earlier to take rubbish to the bins and looked in the orchards. Nothing in the one bordering our property but across the lane there is a pole down in the farmer's orchard. No workmen to be seen.

After a -2C start we will hopefully hit double figures today ( just).

The laundry is all done and waiting to get pegged out to dry.
Looking forward to getting out there and enjoying the milder temps today.

Morning. It is grey and breezy but 10c.Only took 15 minutes to get on, I keep timing out.

J meeting John at their preferred restaurant today which reopened Tuesday after a month's break. Most restaurants/bars close here for a month or three in the Winter. John will have fish, chips and mushy peas and Jim a giant burger. I will go through my seed box and put asise what I want to sow direct outside in March. Have more seed coming too.

@Flumpy How are your Mum's injuries now from her fall?

Just did 5 minutes on the static bike, first time this year I think! Easy does it. Just under a mile but better than nothing and I got on and off it okay.
