I hate the On The Beach advert. I would never get tired of slapping the son.

Oh @Jocko , I've been trying to remember what that advert was about all evening!! I'm so preoccupied with that obnoxious son of theirs that I had no idea what the advert was all about. The 1st advert was bad enough where he makes bee line for the food in the airport lounge but the current one I could knock his block off for the way he licks his ice cream and teases his sister. Horrid kid!!

I dislike all the Animal Charity ads, RSPCA, Cats Protection. Donkey Sanctuary. making me very sad and reminding me how cruel people are. I have to look away.

Absolutely agree Vicky and all the poverty and child abuse ones too, but I suppose they are justified as an awareness to all these sickening issues must be maintained as unfortunately they can, unintentionally, get forgotten .

I find it heart breaking to see the little girls who live on the streets and are so often victims of abuse and forced marriages. The little one at the end who sits with her clothing inside out, just brings home just how alone in the world they all are.

I also agree that charities are needed but find that I get really fed up during the run up to Christmas with the non stop bombardment of charity ads. I noticed that we were getting three or four of them in each advertising break. It obviously works otherwise they wouldn't do it. :noidea:

I suppose as we all buy and prepare large quantities of food , which I personally think is unnecessary , at Christmas these adverts hope to pull at our heart strings and bring it to our attention that there are many, many less fortunate people out there....good on them! :dbgrtmb:

I'd have a more favourable view towards charity adverts if I believed that most of the money they raise was spent on the actual cause, rather than independent fundraising firms, director's salaries etc.

Sadly yes but I prefer to take that chance and have them receive at least a portion than none at all because everyone thinks that way too. :blue thumb:

Just try and do your research first.

I do direct debit to battersea dogs and cats, plus one for working horses and donkeys etc. Abroad.

Personally looking at some of the pictures I could happily shoot the owners before putting their horses out of their misery, but I don't think any of the money goes into that side of it.

Most of the charities I support use all of the money for their charity work with most of the admin done on a voluntary basis.

I've seen a few adverts for the new aeu de toilette from Mark Jacobs lately.

Now my French isn't very good, but doesn't aeu de toilette translate as something like of/from the toilet?

Should we really be splashing toilet water on ourselves to make us more appealing to the opposite sex?
