So aliens have the technology to travel across the universe in balloons and then let themselves be shot down by dumb American pilots? Not exactly Independence Day.

The Chinese are saying they detected no less than ten unauthorized US flights over their airspace last year.

I know the Chinese government is known for lying, and of course the US government denies it, but on this occasion I'm inclined to believe the Chinese.

As balloons travel with the Jetstreams, which travel from West to East, any balloon launched from the US would have to cross the Atlantic, Europe and Russia before reaching China.
If the balloons were launched from Europe, the Middle East or Afghanistan, how would China know they were American? Unless:

They didn't specifically mention balloons. They said unauthorised flights.

            From Reuters:
BEIJING/WASHINGTON, Feb 13 (Reuters) - China said on Monday that U.S. high altitude balloons had flown over its airspace without permission more than 10 times since the beginning of 2022. (my italics)

              Yeah I think we would.
If it had caused a diplomatic incident I cant see how it would be covered up.

Do we all really believe that the US doesn't spy on China? Or that any country doesn't spy on any other? Did we find out about Chinese military bases on artificial islands because Xi Jin Ping discussed it openly down the Blacksmiths Arms while out for a pint with Boris Johnson and Donald Trump?
