Good Morning Ears.jpeg Lovely start to the day here ... plus I had a good eight hour sleep.

J had a communique from MEO yesterday saying "soon" there are problems.  :wallbanging:

I had a variegated Brugmansia rooted cutting arrive yesterday from Spain so I may find a pot to plant it in and get it going early. Other than that, nada here.

      Good day
It is 39f 3c and cloudy. The guessers say it will be getting colder hour by hour over the next day or so and some snow will fall. As soon as it is light, I'll quick barbecue something before it gets cold.

@Victoria you are constantly buying roots and things and I'd appreciate you sharing how long it is, generally, before the roots take and things start pushing up through the soil. I have two peony roots that I got too late to put in the ground outside and they are in pots. They've been in those for months and nothing is pushing up through. I "furtled" a little and the main root bits seem to be establishing themselves as they are not loose and feel "anchored". Totally puzzled here. :noidea:

I've got a puttering day ahead and will slouch my way through it.

      Chers :coffee:

So much for a relaxing day at home, we now have very little water, a mere trickle is coming through the taps. Toilet cisterns are either not refilling or taking up to 45mins to do so.....and attempting to make a cuppa.....well we give up on that one!

Oh dear Upsy. At least we use bottled water for drinks. Hope it comes back soon.

We had twp men here earlier (sub contractors of MEO) wanting to know who owned the orchard bordering us so J directed him to the owner across the road. Don't think they have done anything but it is a start.

J is having a bad day. He put the sheets in the machine and I kept hearing a clunk, told him and he said it was nothing. It kept on so I mentioned it again and said it sounded like something was in the machine other than sheets. He opened it, took out the sheets (flooding the kitchen) and lo and behold there was the bedroom remote control! Well, it turned the TV on but you couldn't turn the sound down ... so a new control was ordered. Now he has spent 4-5 hours looking for a power cable to give to John tomorrow which he couldn't find yesterday for something he bought.

Lori, the plantlets I buy are cuttings from the mother plant that has been rooted about 10cm tall. Didn't get it planted because I need J to help moving the pot.

Yes it a pain in the ...., very annoying.

We can easily pick up bottled water from just down the road but will try our best to avoid that if possible.

We have managed to store some water ,and we're using water from the water butts to flush the toilets with. Showers were just a dribble with the header tank taking hours to refill...if in fact it actually has.:dunno:

              Good morning .

Still very little flowing water here this morning, we could certainly do without this. Trying to get ready is proving to be a time consuming ordeal as my Aunt's funeral is at 10:45.

Hope you all have a better day than we're having.

Morning all. It is an overcast and breezy morning here.

Sorry you are still without water, especially when you don't need the stress. Hopefully all will go well. xx

J shopping them meeting John for lunch. As he has a snooze when he comes home, guess my planting will wait till tomorrow but there is no rush.

                  Good day
It is 25f -4c and everything is covered in ice. I shall have to let the van warm up quite a bit before going shopping so I can get the cargo doors open.

@Upsydaisy my heart goes out to you. I cannot imagine getting up in the morning to a water problem. I don't function well until I've had my morning shower. At least you're a smart cookie and have the water from the butts to flush toilets! I hope they get things fixed soon. :fingers crossed:

@Victoria kittens are so cute :)

I'm going to get my shopping done to tide me over for the next 3-4 days. Monday is "family day" here so all the kids will have a day off school and I do not go shopping outside of school hours if I can avoid. It saves having to maneuver around the kids and having to listen to the yummy mummies talking in loud voices trying to impress each other.

I do have that little bit of painting (3rd coat) to finish. I'm not sure if I may have to do a 4th coat on the legs of the stools. Hope not. These are very sturdy stools that I think will last for years.

                  Cheers:coffee:

                    Hi ,

We've just got back. It was a lovely service, very moving indeed.

Enjoyed meeting up with all my cousins again, sadly we're spread far and wide so don't get to see each other very often. Most started drifting off back home about 1 pm but a small group of us stayed on at the pub for a good natter until 3pm.

I had my shower last night Lori which was OK as its header tank fed.. I prefer my shower later as I'm normally dusty from being out in the garden.:)

Water pressure has increased slightly and is coming through a tad faster now ... onwards and upwards ,an encouraging sign ...I hope. :fingers crossed:

                    Have a relaxing evening everyone.

                      Good morning.

Well I spoke too soon in my post yesterday, filling the kettle for a brew on our return home suggested that the water situation had improved a bit but unfortunately it hasn't. Later on in the news the water authority said supplies would be intermittent over the weekend, so we just have to make sure we have plenty in storage I guess.:dunno:

I feel sorry for families with children especially as they've been on half term school holidays. How have they coped with cooking, laundry and toilet flushing ??...must be a nightmare!!!

We are on the boundary line of the problem area as my sister who lives a 10 min walk away is unaffected.

Never mind ,hopefully it will soon get fixed.

We're in for an 'iffy 'day today weather wise so it will be a go with the flow .

                      Have a great Saturday everyone.

Morning all. We didn't get our forecast rain last night and the sun is breaking the cloud up now heading for another 20c day.

So pleased all went well yesterday Upsy and that you had a good catchup with Cousins ... but sorry that you still have water issues.

We are still without landline/Internet but get connected sporadically via a SIM card in the mobile. A couple of days ago J saw a truck loaded with phone poles down the road then yesterday he noticed one pole at the far end of the orchard adjoining us had been replaced ... four more (at least) to go.

                        Wishing all a pleasant weekend.

Morning all :spinning:, Upsydaisy we have had the same problem, I got to work Wednesday and there was no water, it’s still the same only tankers keeping everywhere going, not sure what’s going on :noidea:

Mum is feeling a little better, only eating little but still no appetite and stomach feels full, she’s awaiting her blood results from Wednesday, keeping my fingers and toes crossed :imphrt:

Victoria I laughed out loud when you said the remote still worked, I remember when my washer was making a noise, it turned out my knickers had got stuck between the rubber and the drum, I managed to pull them out but they where shredded :heehee:

Upsydaisy glad to here the service went smoothly :grphg:

Lori how’s the sewing going, did you find the material you wanted ?

@Flumpy, pleased your Mum is eating a little and keeping fingers and toes crossed (dedos cruzados) for good results on the blood tests. Sorry you are having water issues too albeit at work!

You need t stop wearing those big bloomers and get some thongs (called tangas fio dental here, dental floss kmickers). :heehee:

                              Good day
It is 20f -7c and a magnificent sunrise was a delight to see this morning.

I'm a bit late again because I wanted to put a coat of paint on the seats of the bar stools first thing so that I can get another coat on later. The legs alerady took 4 coats!

@Flumpy I had to set aside my sewing for a bit. I do have lots of fabric here and did find a bright orange fabric for my next project.

@Upsydaisy no water and @Victoria no internet. Things are pretty grim for you two. I hope the repair people get on with it!

I had a little rearranging I wanted to do with some shelving in the two mini greenhouses and if the sun stays out for the afternoon, it will reach those and make it warm enough for me to get out there and switch things.

Other than that. Ho Hum. Laundry, baking, etc.

                              Cheers :coffee:

J went up the lane to take the rubbish and saw the two men who came the other day in the orchard across the lane digging up an old phone pole ... manually!!!

Upsy, hope all is okay there, can't say swimmingly ...
