      Thanks Vicky.

Hmm , I'm debating whether or not to remove a bit more of the middle layer.

Yes exactly, but the problem is that the plants are well rooted now . You have to have the layers too , fine gravel at the base then this special compost stuff then the moss layer and finally the stones. If I use less compost stuff ( technical term there :heehee:) then it might not be enough to accommodate the root systems. Obviously the jar is not as big as the original one either.

I'm sat opposite it and it's annoying me no end. If it was domed it would be fine.

I'll sleep on it and decide tomorrow. Hey ho!!

            Morning everyone. :)

Off to visit my brother this morning to check out a few things.

I will then have another go at tackling the terrarium again and try and get it looking a bit more pleasing to the eye before son no.1 comes down. Just hope that the plants can cope with another disturbance.:fingers crossed::fingers crossed::fingers crossed::fingers crossed::fingers crossed::fingers crossed:

            Enjoy your day folks.

                    Good day,
It is 31f -1c and the guessers are predicting lots of freezing rain and other irritations for the next 36 hours.

Yes, pancake Tuesday was a big deal at my house too when I was growing up. We weren't Lent people so I guess we just appropriated the tradition. I loved it because that was the only time we could eat until we were chocker block!

I'm meeting a friend for breakfast in a couple of hours and then going to do a teensy bit of shopping on the way back. I'll take the mustang today as it needs a good run and it now has a super quiet muffler fitted.

When I get back, I'm going to attempt making a grow light using some LED strip lighting which is the right colours for growing. I've got a kiddie's umbrella that I may try to use as the framework :heehee:

                    Cheers :coffee:

                      Good morning.

No @Flumpy we didn't have pancakes. We haven't had them since our brood began leaving home 20 yrs ago. Trouble is you can't just make one each....and I definitely couldn't eat 4!!!!.:yikes:

Visit to my brother's went OK, still issues need resolving.

Hubs found another jar so I redid the terrainium, and to be honest it looks as it did in the original one so our son probably won't notice.Phew!!!!

Our water supply is still coming through very cloudy...I love my glass of water and drink a fair few during the day...but it's a bit off putting!!

Another grey day here with a -2C night to look forward to.

Hope your day is a bit brighter in your corner of the world.

Morning. It is bright, sunny and breezy but only 9c and will be colder tomorrow.

Just love that terrarium Upsy ... you have done a grand job. I would not drink that water either. I drink about 2 litres a day, bottled, plus juice, milk and tea and in cod weather an occasional mug of milky coffee, so lots of liquid.

J has been working on an internal network system with 'points' in the foyer, lounge and Baffa. This way we are getting good service in the office, bedroom, lounge and Baffa. Our speed has gone from 1.8 to 10! He is using SIM cards in mobiles which will cost 30 Euros a month. When MEO reconnnects he will cancel which costs us 40 a month and only use them for landline. It is all Greek to me. :rolleyespink:

                        A typical quiet day here.

                          Good day
It is 20f -7c . It began snowing heavily last evening and at about the 4" mark, I was out shoveling. The snow continued a bit and then the freezing rain started. Most of the night it sounded like someone flinging pebbles at the house. There is only about another 2 inches out there and I don't know how thick the ice on top is but I may go out again in a few minutes and start clearing. If I get everything cleared, I've got lots of ice melter to sprinkle on the drive and sidewalk to get through the 4 to 5 hours of freezing rain forecast for today.

I had a good time at breakfast yesterday with my friend and got there and back before the snow started. It is only about a 40 mile round trip so certainly not a trek.

@Victoria I'm glad J has figured out a way to sidestep MEO. Some of these big companies get too comfortable and let their services slide. They think they are gods sometimes and it does lighten your heart to let them watch the birdie now and again!

@Upsydaisy that looks like it came straight out of a high end gift shop. Nicely done :)

@Flumpy I hope your Mum is rallying and you had a good visit.

Our group was going to meet for lunch today but I believe it will be cancelled due to the weather. I'll probably just go out and do a little shopping and then come in and shut the door against the cold.

                          Cheers :coffee:

Lori, pleased the breakfast was good yesterday and I would not be surprised id today's lunch was cancelled today ... best be safe than sorry.

J walked up the lane and there are more new poles but the wires have to be connected/strung yet.

@Flumpy You asked if they have diggers here ... yes they do for use on open sites or roadways, but I imagine it is difficult in orchards due to lack of maneuverable space and possibly tree roots. Our house (top) with some of the trees around us and close up with poles ...

Thanks for the visual @Victoria .

The ladies cancelled the lunch but didn't decide to do so until 11. That's 15 minutes notice as it would take me 45 minutes to get there! Luckily the one who was looking for a lift with me left a message on my landline to call her. So after I got home from shopping :rolleyespink: and set up the seating in the van, I saw the message light blinking, I called her back and thanked her for the heads up.

                                Good morning.

Brrrr that was a nippy night -2C :yikes:,a bit of a shock to the old system as it's been so mild of late.

Friday's here... eldest baby is coming today for the weekend:hapydancsmil::yahoo:.

It's a quick tidy round and making up his bed before going on a grocery shop. So looking forward to seeing him.

Thanks for your nice comments on the terrarium rebuild, fingers crossed now as only time will tell if all the plants have survived.:fingers crossed::fingers crossed:
