A while ago there were days when parts of Scotland were warmer than South Devon.
Also France has just had its driest winter since 1959; here in Devon we've had 11.4 mm of rain so far this month. February was known as filldyke when I was growing up.
Unless March is wetter we could be struggling this summer at least round here.

Dry springs are becoming more normal in the last few years I've found, but not necessarily warmer.
Last year was particularly mild and dry and April showers seem to be a thing of the past.
More likely to get them in July these days.

Here in Shineyland February has been the sunniest for at least nine years - and the sunniest January as well. My solar panels have told me about it. :)

Up here on the north east coast, I've had the bedroom window open and the fan on and days with no heating on earlier this month. It's crazy. It's almost like night time is warmer than day time.

In a mature democracy - everyone is entitled to express their opinion - including MP's:

Tory MP Jonathan Gullis managed to offend a number of people by calling his constituents "savages," "scrotes," and "scumbags."

I drove out to a car wash I use regularly every 6 months whether it needs it or not.
Anyway, since I was there probably, only before Christmas, but not for a carwash that time the whole area has been developed into massive units and warehousing, the amount of green fields being buried is massive, the road out there is having kerb stones put in all the way along it and a footpath.
It had always been semi rural and and its just diabolical what they have done to the area.

It has been allowed, and welcomed, by the council because it will bring "prosperity and work to the area", I'm now waiting for the influx of people that will want to live in the area because they have found a job there.
So that will spark another massive lot of house building because they will all want to live locally.

We just dont need this kind of stuff, too much been going on for the last few years.

Kent is the concrete capital of England.

Yes Its exactly the same here in Medway and surrounding country side there is no room to move anymore all along the River sides both sides of the River Medway from Cuxton through to Strood, Rochester, Chatham,Gillingham 1000's of flats/houses the surrounding villages are turning in to towns/ Green belt means nothing 1000's of acres of fields/woods/lakes and streams all destroyed ,all to cater for the people moving from London because property is to expensive there,we have one hospital for 350.000 people with 840 beds, hardly any GP's lack of schools and the roads cannot cope with the traffic we have now.:old:

                      I'll get my coat now:heehee::heehee::heehee:

If development equals prosperity I've not noticed it yet.
I think I need to go somewhere that hasn't been "levelled up".

                            Same here too (Woking)!

Our new council are about to go bust and are simply shouting about how awful the last lot were. They're planning to flog all the council owned assets as they, in theory, start to give a return.
Years of development and years more to go! Not many people around here are happy with the council performance, past or present

                              Ohhh, I think it is.
Because I live in an old house I'm not overlooking or staring in someone else's windows, but you can pay over a million and still be living in someone's back yard these days.

In fact half the big houses with gardens seem to sell off the garden for houses to be built on and then put up high fences and walls to block out the neighbours.
Or move and leave someone else to sort it out.

Hello we have 5 gigantic chalk quarries and I talking 100 ft deep used to play in them 100 years ago:heehee::heehee::heehee: and I have worked in them driving a Steam line drag and bucket for Blue Circle cement company,They have even built housing estates in them I'm talking 500 houses in each one,and all they can see when they look out of a window is the white chalk face of the surrounding cliffs:smile: and just as you come off of the Motorway M2 where the traffic is already horrendous they are now building the biggest ALDI's super store in the country:dunno:
