Microsoft Bing, commonly known as Bing, is a Microsoft-owned search engine.
Good morning yes switched mine to Google Chrome its no where near as fast as Google and I personally don't like Bing's algorithm and find its search results to be of lesser quality.Mind you now I know its blocked in China :heehee:

I'm finding with Bing search is that you often get a complete page of ads as a result.

Even Chrome is going slightly that way, but it's still useable :)

I avoid all the ads on Firefox & have installed several ad-blockers on top so I rarely see any advertising! I also gave up using Bing or any other search engine years ago & always use DuckDuckGo for any searches I might want to do online (which are fairly few & far between) & find the results are as good as Google's & without the tracking ads that follow you all around the Internet!

The Add On/Extension called ublock Origin (free) is said to be one of the best ad blockers.

We use it and don't find any need for any extra ones, runs on most browsers, eg Firefox, Chome,Edge etc.

Worth looking at the Brave browser ( based on Firefox) if you want extra privacy and less Ads.

I've been using ublock Origin for several years now as well as Adblocker + & Ghostery!

Takes a bit of following, but there are some useful tips for 'hardening' Firefox settings here, though expect you will have already actioned some or all of them.

Don't have any problems with ads in Firefox, don't use an ad blocker; just have browser privacy set to custom with all the boxes ticked and set to always send a do not track signal.
I have used Duck Duck Go for a while, not that fond of it really, for what I want it is markedly less good than Google; Bing is a disaster for me.
Duck Duck Go s first response is often to invite me to buy whatever I've searched for at Amazon or on ebay.

Thanks for the link to the video, @ricky101 but I found it was far to fast to follow. As you say I have already set up some of the things he mentioned but others I had no idea existed! I'm happy with what I have installed in my browser, though I may try disabling one or two of the blockers & see how we get on.

I'm was so surprised when I saw my wife's laptop filled with tons of ads! I was completely flabbergasted as I see nothing of what she sees! Though since she got her new laptop a couple of months ago she let me install Firefox & I enabled some of the same setting I use on mine so she doesn't see nearly as many ads any longer. Though she was a bit fed up with ads on YouTube bothering her & asked me if I knew of anything that would stop them. I didn't but I soon found an adblocker that stops them from spoiling her time on there. (I didn't know of one because I don't really use YouTube very much. I prefer to be active rather than sit passively as though I were watching TV!)
