Broad beans have now germinated

    Seems very early to have broad beans in flower, not many bees around now and I hope you dont get frost where ever you are, it might kill the flowers.

    How tall are these they sound amazing for the time of the year.

      @pete, just been up to see them and the ones planted in October are two foot tall, and are full of buds with some flowers on top. The ones planted February at 2 inches high. They are a short growing variety that are purple, even when boiled. We had them last year. It’s going to be bad weather next week, if you had them what would you do. V

      Well I'm thinking if they got through December and January unscathed then they should be ok with this cold spell.
      Mine are still in the greenhouse and only 2 ins tall like your smaller ones and Red Epicure I think they are called.
      I was holding off planting out until the end of the month, depending on weather.

      Is it very mild where you are?

      We are near the south coast Devon, but we have had quite a lot of frost last week with zero temperatures. No snow though. The wind chill has been pretty cold these last few days. At the moment it’s 6 degrees. Tonight we expect 2 o.V
