With all that is coming out from Matt's text messages, I suspect uptake will be quite low...

I've had covid twice. First right at the beginning, where it knocked hell out of me but didn't really scare me. This was before the vaccine. Second time was last summer, after 3 doses of vaccine. Second time knocked hell out of me too, but worse than the first time. Second time there were moments when I genuinely thought I might die.

I'm not saying the vaccine is a bad idea. On the contrary, my view is I'll take any vaccine I'm offered if the data shows it's safe. I'll happily take a booster in spring if offered, if it's tailored for a variant I'm unlikely to have already had

Apart from the way he wrote and the terminology used I've not really managed to get my head round what all the fuss is about.

I think people are upset because so many were under the dissolution that Boris's government was full of people that really cared and were doing their very best, selflessly, for the greater good of the general public. I think for many, that bubble has burst, and when bubbles burst, lots of folks get shocked and upset.

I think most of it is because we are now all seeing (and feeling) the results of the damage done to the economy, the use of the 'nudge' unit and involvement of the media in coercion that went on coupled with the lies that lay alongside them and that the bulk of the decisions being made were done so for political and personal gain rather that following "the science". We were duped and manipulated.

I dont think we did anything much different than many European countries, if fact their lockdowns we harder and longer.
On some occasions the science wanted harder and longer lockdowns but the government resisted.
I seem to remember at the time lots of people were saying we are going to have to pay for this lot one day.
Which is partly what we are doing now.

Covid was unknown to the whole world and how to deal with it.
IMO the UK did ok. Yes there were mistakes but who's not made a mistake in life?

The spring booster is for the over 75's and the immune vulnerable. I would think uptake to be normal for this age group.

Good Lord! Do you really believe that they believed that? In this day and age? Present company and their families excepted, of course, but are people really that dim or is it more a case of desperately wanting to believe that we're governed by decent, caring people?

Hello the uptake here locally will be the same as the last booster about 30%/40% the over 75's have lost all trust in the booster's;)

94% of all available appointments for the last booster were NOT taken - admittedly, that covers all age ranges, but that can only be described as a very low uptake.

Indeed, however many also didn't have the brains to work out that there was going to be pain to follow, especially in the financial sense... now that they are seeing friends and family being made redundant, reality is biting.

Too right! A result of having lived long enough, and experienced enough for the green to have well and truly worn off ;) :)
