I thought the Russians dumping fuel on the drone they brought down was a third-world solution to a first-world problem.

It was done in a way that could be considered not aggressive:biggrin: and would it be worth a million rouble missile.

I thought when they dumped the fuel on the Drone, they would flash up the after burners :-)

It was just my attempt at humour. It kinda reminded me of a Dennis Pennis thingy where he shouted at Joan Collins at an Italian film festival “ Hey Joan, you look a million lira” to which she replied “Thanks”. He then looked at the camera and said “ That’s about five quid”

Putin wouldnt dare invade Estonia. There are 29 and soon to be 30 other coutries ready to step in and push Putin back to his own border.

Gaddafi poo pooed his icc arrest warrant and endind up being done over by his own people 4 months later. Putin must be wondering how long he has.

China wont give Putin weapons. They darent hack off their biggest customer the US. Xi might be a nasty piece of work, but hes not stupid.

Putin and Xi are both unhinged and I wouldn't put anything past them. China has been building and playing a long game for many years, the world became quite dependent on their manufacturing for example, they control most of rare earth elements (for now) and they've created a new blue water navy... They have a strong hand, especially if going all in with the BRICS.
              Who knows?

I see last night that a Ukrainian home made drone blew up a bunch of kaliber missiles in Crimea. The same missiles that were destined to be used against innocent Ukrainians. Russia havent got many missiles left. Putin must be wondering what went wrong with his 7 day special military operation.

If the Russian army are anything to go by, China will also have bigged up their military capability. Russian propaganda worked right up to the point where they had their bottoms kicked by an army which only really took shape in 2014. China wont invade Taiwan as they will be fighting an island nation with a far more sophistocated military.

The internet has broken the grasp of propagandists. You cant hide anything nowadays as Boris is finding out.

People believe what they want to believe.
We listen to our propaganda, they listen to theirs, everyone knows half of what you see or read on the internet is rubbish.
We are told that and they are told that.
Why our stuff is true and theirs is all false is because we want to believe it.

China have increased their military, very significantly. And we can't underestimate them. When China intervened in the Korean war, Americans fighting on the side of South Korea effectively legged it. That was back in the days when China was still a third world country.

But military capability aside, I think China is playing a clever game. They've convinced the whole world to watch their military hardware, while making a much softer infiltration right under everyone's noses, through a combination of surveillance, cyber warfare, and of course simply by buying allegiances. If we ever have to fight China, I think the first thing we'll notice is our companies and institutions spontaneously breaking.

Yeah, but governments always call it investment, isn't it wonderful how Saudi Arabia, China etc. all want to invest in our country.
The government even go out to those places attracting investment.

Putin has suggested China's 'peace plan' could form the basis of negotiations to end the war.

Putin: China peace plan could be basis to end war

Meanwhile, Antony Blinken, an American guy, has rubbished it because it doesn't call for a Russian withdrawal.

                      What does this tell us?

We know that Russia is in the wrong. That bit is indisputable. But does that make the American stance right? If the Americans wanted to promote peace, would they not work with Ukraine to propose amendments rather than simply dismissing the whole document? As grown ups, if someone makes a flawed suggestion, we're supposed to give constructive feedback and work together to find a solution, not simply rubbish the whole thing.
