Morning all. Thursday. almost 9AM here. Raining.
Yesterday got our first car show trip sorted. We are trying to tour places in route as we get to the destination and then tour a different place on the return home. So then we get to see three different areas. This first one the car show is in Knoxville, Tn for 3 days, our first stop over will be in Charlottsville, Virginia, then the show in Knoxville, then on the way back we stop at Lynchburg, Virginia, so seeing historic sites etc. Later in April I'll roam around to gather possible awesome restaurants to try in all three places, to have a list with me. I love trying regional foodie things.
Dinner tonight with the association that conducted the photo contest. We shall see what they chose for placement. Meeting new folks etc.
Just house stuff again as usual today. Have a good day all.

Serin, small numbers found here in the south.

Good morning everyone....gosh what a day of weather we had yesterday! :yikes: I thought at one time the greenhouse was going to take off. In the afternoon every time I bent down to plant a bulb my waterproof jacket blew up over my head.:roflol:
Similar day again today but hopefully we'll get to see a bit more sunshine too. That'll make a big difference I think.:)

We didn't go anywhere yesterday after all and I doubt we will today either...rain and winds are not a great combination.

Hopefully I'll get to finish planting out the bulbs . Then it'll be tending to all the seedlings and working out how best to organise the greenhouse for when we go away next week.
I want the seedlings to get plenty of daylight but at the same time ( in case the sun comes out ) I don't want to take the risk of them wilting from 'under glass heat'....the sun only has to shine for 10 minutes and it can easily hit 30C . I can't really leave the door open as night temps are still low enough to kill them, especially as I won't be there to throw some fleece over them all.
It's a bit of a dilemma, my fears are of coming back to no seedlings .

              Oh what a to do!!
              upload_2023-3-23_21-27-43.png

Oh well that's for me to worry over ( and have sleepless nights ), I hope everyone has a lovely day today.

              :spinning:

Sending you a cheery wish Upsy and your weather sounds atrocious to me and I certainly would not do gardening in wind and rain ... I am not that dedicated! :hate-shocked:

We have our usual start and forecast for the day. May get to 24c.

J is meeting the Canadian at 10.30 to get the guitar back he rented then will meet John at 12.15 for lunch and John will buy the guitar. Nothing special for me except sitting out front after cycling. I have some plug plants coming from Spain and Italy but don't think either will be here till Monday. Both Aptenia, Purple from Italy (Sardinia I think) and Pink variegata from Spain.

They are trailing succulents which I will put in a hanging basket.

                That's it from here.

                  Morning Vicky :)

No it's not atrocious, we get a lot worse.!!

It's not that I'm a dedicated gardener...I just need to be outside. I can't find enough things to occupy me indoors, I like to save my library books, brain puzzles and jigsaws until the evenings......but thankfully they are beginning to get much lighter and seemingly shorter now.:dbgrtmb: :hapydancsmil:

Actually it's lovely and sunny here at present, hubs is taking himself off for a walk and I'm just heading out....just need to tick of finishing the bulb planting before any rain arrives.:fingers crossed: Then I'll be happier.

Enjoy sitting out in the sunshine.xx

Feeling slightly better today, I would venture outside but we keep getting showers, we have forecast that Sunday is the driest so may go out for some fresh air and a meal :spinning:

Morning all, rained all late yesterday and through the night, a soggy garden today. So inside stuff to do, always something here to do.
Did go to the dinner gathering last night for the Watershed association , really nice. bumped into a few folks I know in the community, former Vet of my dogs and his wife was there, they are retired now.
Anyway, I won 2nd place for my picture attached. Can't believe it. It was judged by two professional photographers. And there it sat on a big display with lights on and a ribbon. First time I entered one of my photo's. Have a good day all. 2ND place picture.jpg
