Geranium v Pelargonium

I have been growing Geraniums & Pelargoniums for a great many years, both here in the UK as well as in Spa

I used to have a few of the Regal Pelargoniums a few years ago, you don't often see them for sale, they are totally covered in flower in early summer but dont tend to re flower so much as the Zonals.

 

That must be yours because mine don't stop flowering all summer & well into the autumn until I put them on the windowsills for the winter & they stop flowering. The same goes for the Geraniums but they start & stop flowering before the Pelargoniums & after!

I lost lots of Pelargoniums in December with the terrible frosts we had but I've got lots of cutting from the plants that survived the winter indoors. The same with the Geraniums as well. In a couple of months I will have so many baby plants of Pelargoniums & Geraniums I won't know what to do with them! I shall probably do the same as last year & plant the extra plants I won't be able to accommodate on the balcony in the church gardens.

I can't see any Geraniums in your pictures Balc?

 

I got all ours out the other day for an airing and drink, did lose 1 cutting.
