Hello all. May the forth be with you. Beautiful day, just awesome. Sunny and to get to 70. Leaning toward canceling chess club meet up. Garden needs my attention.
    Take care all.

Wood Anemone. Grows in shady ancient woodlands.

        Good morning everyone.:)

I hope everyone is well today.

We're off to visit my brother this morning, so that will take up most of our day. As the evenings are so much lighter now there is still plenty of time left for other things too.

I was busy in the garden still at 7pm yesterday. It was such glorious weather allowing us to eat outside too. Unfortunately we have rain on the horizon for the next few days.

        Whatever you up too.....enjoy!

Morning all. A sunny start today without the haze.

A quiet day here, just J doing a bit of shopping. He has a sore jaw. With all the orange blossom around us, I am taking antihistamines. Adore the scent but .....

Have a good journey Upsy and hope all is well with R. :fingers crossed:

            Good day
It is another mild morning. 37f 2c and we are having a violent thunderstorm. I scurried into one of the spare bedrooms to find out what was making a noise like pebbles being thrown at the window and discovered that it was the rain - maybe with a bit of ice in it? That's the first time I've hear that type of noise. Interesting.

I am so tempted to put more things in the greenhouse but everything would just need to come back in again as it is supposed to be well below freezing Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Oh well, it's early spring and it is Canada!

@Upsydaisy I hope you have a nice visit and the trip itself is pleasant. You'll probably see a lot of gardens waking up as you ride by homes. @Victoria I envy you. I love to sniff fragrant flowers!

I've got my new jar of flux and will start some soldering this morning. The first thing I will fix is an LED grow light. Fixing it rather than replacing it will save me about $150.

            Cheers :coffee:

Actually, the Portuguese are not gardeners and many look like rubbish tips!!! They are gradually picking up the pace since the foreigners brought Garden Centres here ... and we have some magnificent ones.

Morning all. 9:45Am here on hump day. Misty morning here. Last week we got a rain storm with some hail, on the ground looked like a bunch of moth balls for a bit before it melted. @CanadianLori
In my garden also all day Tuesday, we seem to have these horrid low growing weeds with yellow flowers have a love for our garden, so spraying killer weed spay on lawn area, and digging out in the beds areas. But as I look to other valley areas I can see spans of them growing. Just trying to spray the to kill them before the seed decides to fly. They are fairly easy to pull out . But after a while my back just can take so much.
Ordered a bunch of seeds, I just directly plant in pots to just leave outside. Have no greenhouse. This year ordered some Lemongrass, see how that goes, actually wanted to plant them in the wine barrel down at the Airbnb, as it could stay outside all year, the right zone down there for that plant. We are looking and getting down there in a few weeks to take stuff.
Today, maybe some house cleaning here and there, always something to attend to in a house.
                Have a good day all.

Lesser Celandines. One of our earliest bloomers, providing much needed nectar for pollinators waking from hibernation.

                  Good morning everyone.:)

Hopefully a more restful day today after a non stop one yesterday. After returning home from visiting my brother we had just an hour to cook and eat our dinner before dashing out for the afternoon until 6pm.

No plans as such for today, but no doubt plenty will be found to keep us busy.

                  Have a lovely day yourselves.

                    Morning all.

A warm day ahead, forecast for 28c again. We are meeting friends at the Chinese by the sea today.

                    Have a good one.

                      Good day
It is 45f 5c and cloudy but those white things seem to be blowing away :blue thumb: We had non stop and sometimes torrential rains yesterday so I think we've had enough water for a little while!

@Upsydaisy you must have slept like a log after all the trekking around you've been doing lately. @Victoria your weather sounds lovely. I hope you have a great time visiting with your friends. :)

I was well pleased with myself yesterday because I fixed the LED grow lamp and soldering (for the first time) was a snap. I then decided to have another look at the "dead" solar panel. I took it apart and located a broken wire so used my newly acquired soldering skills to fix it too. To replace both of those items would have cost me around $300. Instead an investment in a little jar of flux and some silicone sealant (total $15) got my equipment up and running  I also sorted all of my low voltage wiring. It looked like a giant ball of red and black spaghetti- naughty Lori. Now I can easily find fittings and lengths of wire when needed.:spinning:

Take care all and cheers! :coffee:

Morning all. A beautiful morning it is, sitting on the deck in shorts and cotton top sipping coffee. Petting my cat. Looking at all the daffs blooming in the beds. Awesome morning. Nice to be retired not to have to rush to some meeting, get dressed ect. Yes, @Upsydaisy the flower looks like that in your pic, the leaves solid color here, there are plenty growing in masses in the woods around us for the bees. And all my flowers are blooming for them also. They just need to stay out of my beds. Most likely in the garden most of the day, some food shopping perhaps. Maybe sorting out some stuff to toss in the house, always something to do in a house.
BTW I hear the migration of the hummingbirds has made it up to North Carolina, usually they hit on my Virginia Blue Bells when arriving, lots are blooming now. Probably time to cook up a big jar of sugar water soon to get ready for them. We usually get about 3 couples. Later.

Ramsons....or Wild Garlic, widely found in damp areas, under hedgerows and in woodlands across the UK.

                          Morning all :smile::SUNsmile:

A beautifully sunny start to our day here.

We haven't fully decided yet but we might go into town ...Southampton ,not our little local one, for a browse and a meal.

I 'll have to make sure that all the seedlings in the greenhouse are well shielded from the sunshine and that the door and vents are open though.:blue thumb:

I think actually Lori that I may have overdone things a bit as I have found it hard to 'switch off' and go to sleep these past few nights.
So a bit of chilling out is on the menu now.

                          Have a lovely day everyone.

                            Morning all.

We had a lovely lunch with our friends. I took them a Pink Brugmansia and a Spider plant, both babies off my mother plants. Steve likes gardening and has quite a few offspring from me. Caroline goes back to the UK on Monday, will be back the end of the month for four days. She will be back here permanently when Phoebe gets her driving license. She finished school and is living/working at some massive stables in Hampshire.

A quiet day here enjoying the scent of the orange tree bordering us on three sides.

                            Have a Good Friday.

:huh:Morning all, blue sky here, sounds like your all very busy in your gardens, I’m hoping to cut my lawn at some point this weekend, popping to my parents to help out so not sure how long I’m going to be there, my hubby is at work unfortunately but will be off for three days after that.

Don’t over do it now and try and relax in between :imphrt:

Morning all. Up early at 6AM, my tinnitus is nuts this morning. Sipping coffee. Overcast today, spitting rain, turned chilly, now 50F. House stuff today. Take care all.
