Morning, sunny, breezy and looks like we could go to 30c.

    Sadly no plants yesterday.

Here's a laugh to start the day ... at 4am I fell out of bed!!! I don't know how, perhaps turning over but i was suddenly on the floor on my knees shouting as my nose hurt. J jumped out of bed and quickly came to my side. I was on my knees sitting on my feet leaning on a padded little rectangular stool I have up against the end table which I put my computer on which I had knocked on the floor. I got myself onto the stool and then up onto the bed. I fell on my left side, on the knee and hip I have had replaced and really jolted things. The new knee comes a couple of inches from the 30cm/12in stem of the new hip. I had to use my left arm for pressure and it is the side where I have a scar from my armpit to nipple where I had my cancer op! It took several minutes to get up. We must have looked comical as we both were naked as we don't wear bed clothes, never have. Any old how, J got me a 1g disolvable Paracetamol, I lay down and Munchkin got back on my lap/thighs where she was when I fell and eventually we all fell back asleep.Van was on my dresser chair and watched it all as Munchkin ran around me.

All joints feel okay this morning, slightly stiff between the shoulder blades. Nose slightly tender, don't know what I hit it on, maybe end table.

So, after that exciting night, we will have a quiet day.

Sorry to hear of your fall @Victoria, I hope you're all right now with no bad effects. Take care and have a restful day
Gardening for me, and also trying to make a birthday card for my cousin's little grand daughter, she'll be 2 in May. I met them for lunch one day a fortnight ago. She's a propper little chatterbox ... wore me out ! :heehee:

I've got that flower in a pot @Upsydaisy, I'm afraid of putting it in the ground in case it takes over - there's a big clump of it in the hedgerow down the road. It's very pretty

        Morning Vicky :)

Oh my goodness , that was a very frightening awakening!!!:yikes:

More tenderness might appear as the day progresses so don't overdo things and take it easy.

Oops just noted that I pressed the 'funny ' smiley.....sorry that wasn't meant to happen.

        Rest up .:grphg:xx

Morning Michael, hope you're well today.:)

Yes it's a very pretty flower indeed isn't it.
Like you I would be a tad dubious of giving it a free range growing opportunity in the borders too. How about planting some up in a big pot and then sinking it in the ground ( like I have done in the past with Mint)...that could work well I think at keeping the roots under control.....better safe than sorry.:dbgrtmb:

          Have a good day.xx

Morning Michael and Upsy. Didn't get up till 9.30. Have loosened up all joints which seem okay except the tightness between shoulder blades. Walked 100 steps to make sure all functioning. Now feet on EMS energiser. Think all is okay. Fortunately have a small rug next to bedside as I would not want to fall on the ceramic tile again. I have had a fear of falling since I fell on the lounge tile pushing the stem through my femur.

Any old how, onward and upward with the gorgeous day.

That's a good idea @Upsydaisy, I'll repot it and maybe do that, I don't think it really likes being in a pot on the patio, it's as if it needs damper conditions and the patio gets a lot of sun.

I have mint in pots too but not enough room in the ground for them all.
I hope the sun is shining for you today, it's lovely here
              xx.

Morning all. and its Saturday again. Yesterday went up to 81, too hot. Over caste right now a few sprinkles, hope it is cooler.
Just in garden pulling any wayward weed I see as I walk about, have a bucket with me to fill. not too many.
@Victoria , wow, falling out of bed, what a scare. And the description of your past surgeries, scary that all held together. Glad your OK.
@Michael Hewett , I have mint in a pot, it stays outside all year, and comes back. Yes, I have plenty of room for one in ground if I choose, but just not sure where I would want it, so it stays in ground. Don't use mint too often in cooking. Once I got a Cat Nip plant, should have barb wired it around, the cats got to it, poor plant never saw the light of day.

As the weather is getting warmer so goes my yearly putting sweaters away and bringing out the cooler clothes, the time I look at it all and bag what I don't want for Good Will. I am in the mentality less is more when it comes to clothes, quality versus quantity.

Posting a picture here of my view last night as I was sitting on the deck with a glass of wine and a book. Beautiful pathway.jpg Have a grand day all.

I have several types of mints @redstar, they're all in pots. They remain outside in the winter and are quite hardy. We usually get wet winters in this part of Wales and I think they like that.
I don't cook, especially now I'm on my own, I grow the mints because I like to smell them. I live on snacks and the occasional light supper

                    @Michael Hewett
I also have this plant in the video in my woodland area. So far, over the last 7 years it really has not expanded to greatly, but OK, if it does, have lots of room for it. Can't use it for cooking. but it smells lovely. And it works in semi shade for me, maybe that is why it is slow to expand.

                        Morning all.

Lovely picture Upsy. Bet all our beaches will be heaving. It is too warm for April, 16c already! We have had torrential rain in April before and we have had almost none this year and none forecast.

My nose is tender and also neck and shoulders.

                        A quiet Sunday is forecast.

Morning Vicky, sorry to hear that your poor body is still on the rebound from its shock tumble, agree with Flumpy your Sunday soak will be extremely welcomed this morning.

Heaving beaches......my worse nightmare, I can't think of nothing worse in the whole wide world!!!:yikes:
Give me the peace and quiet and beautiful views out across countryside that is dressed in all shades of green any day.
That's another reason why I wouldn't really ever want to swap our weather for anywhere else, we don't get the monotonous runs of weather fortunately ( or some may say unfortunately) our weather is so unpredictably changeable and this makes it so beneficial to our wildlife and environment.

Our reward is the beautiful colours, oh how they were greatly missed last summer, everywhere looked faded, jaded, arid and.........brown!!!! :heehee:
I so hope we don't get a repeat performance this summer ....we need and in all honesty owe everything to our lovely rain....it just had to learn when is enough!!:roflol:

Yes we moan about it...but isn't that what we're supposed to do?

Happy Sunday. Woke up to see fog floating about in the woods about me, hanging over the garden. Birds have a new batch of bird seed with more sunflowers than before.

Yesterday while gathering my mail from the box out front I witnessed 3 assertive male cardinals, one escaped one direction, the other chased the one, and kept it up, around and around this huge bush, and around, and around. I guess somehow the victim was chosen by the aggressor to be the higher threat to his domain leaving the other to escape. I do know often when I down front getting the mail that a cardinal is singing long and hard up in a tall tree, must be trying to find a female, and asserting his control over that section of the woods. There does appear to be at least 4 bright red males about. I do see some females. Interesting.

Tomorrow we plan a trip up to Hawthorn, New York, to pick up something for the car. A 3 hour drive one way. Maybe some interesting sights to see along the way. And find a neat lunch stop somewhere. Have to do some exploring online today.
Well, back to whatever needs to be done. Have an awesome day all.
