Yes, that is a cardinal. I almost went out to the front this morning to catch his song on tape. Maybe later today. He seems to have an endless lung capacity, his ending trills just keep going.

Mine too :frown: But I do love the sea in winter when it's rough and crashing on the rocks. I've got soaked many times :heehee:

One of my bucket list is to get back to Astoria, Oregon, in the storming season, and hopefully catch mother nature at her best when she gets the Pacific Ocean and the Columbia River to converge into each other, during an awesome windy storm.

                Still chilling .

                Morning to each and everyone.

A sparkling brand new week has arrived.

I hope you're aches and pains are easing up a bit now Vicky, did you come out with any bruising? They alone can be very tender and uncomfortable.

A grey and occasionally damp day is on the agenda for us . That being so we haven't ,as yet, made any plans for today.

I do have some ironing that needs doing ...great fun!

I also need to phone a couple of friends, I meant to do this last week.

I also plan to email my cousin over in Canada.

So if it ends up too wet to be outside I'll have plenty to keep me occupied.
Nothing like a good old natter on the phone or via email!!!

                Have a grand day, enjoy.

                :spinning:

I think this is a sunset rather than sunrise ... but n'er mind, it is pretty.

Morning all. Another warm April day here, it will go down a few degrees this week to near normal. Even the North is affected ... temps as high as us!

Thank you Upsy, just a twinge in my neck/shoulder right side, must have flung that arm to brace. Nose bone tender, and yesterday i discovered a welt on the inside of my lower lip and my teeth catching on it so must have bit myself!!! Have slept well the past couple of days.

Just a bit of pottering here. Hopefully my plants will arrive today.

Was that said in jest @Upsydaisy or do you mean it. I enjoy ironing, I could do it all day. My mother hated it and always got me to do it, starting with hankies when I was very little and maybe that's why I enjoy it anyway.

I'm glad you're not too bad now @Victoria, take care

I may go out, the weather isn't as nice as the forecast said it would be. I have a skeleton clock that belonged to Beryl (late partner) and it hasn't worked for years. She was always going to have it mended but due to her progressing disabilities she never got around to it.
Her family don't want it so it's still here with me and I thought I'd take it to be mended. The nearest place I know is a stall in Swansea Market, so I may take a bus ride there, and I can also buy laverbread because the cockle van that comes to our local town on Fridays doesn't seam to come any more.
There are nice fresh vegetable stalls in Swansea market too so I may get some things there, They always last better than supermarket ones

Good morning everyone, have a lovely day

Morning Michael ,how are you today?

Half and half really. Most of the year I enjoy ironing, I put the radio on upstairs...tuned into pop songs from my youth....and happily sing away as the creases disappear!!! But if the weather is good and tempting me outside.....well that's a different matter!!:roflol:

Downstairs our radio is tuned into classical music.....we have music zones in our house!! :heehee:

My radio in the greenhouse is tuned into a local station, it plays a bit of everything and gives out really local..and normally very accurate...weather updates.

Hubs workshop ( garage to you and me;)) is a classical zone.
What are we like !!! A right couple of old.........!!!!:roflol:

I hope all your plans for your day go smoothly.

                      Have a lovely day.xx

                        Hi there Vicky

Sunrise or sunset each have equal beauty.

So glad you weren't seriously injured...and you didn't knock any teeth out in the process!!:yikes:
Just take things easy and let the recovery continue.
                        :grphg:

Hope your plants arrive today, all safe and sound.

Thankfully I think our forecast was wrong as we are enjoying a lovely warm Spring day here.....for now.:fingers crossed:

Potter carefully and enjoy your day.

                          Good day
It is 44f 6c and the guessers say it will get cooler. They are not predicting many nights below freezing between now and May so the worst is over. It has been raining which is wonderful because I have grass seed down where the old raised bed was. :dbgrtmb:

I had a some hanging pots that needed new seeding as the others had not germinated and I scattered something called "Stocks" - it was an inexpensive packet I picked up at the grocery store but from a reliable company. I have never seen this before. [IMG][IMG]
Should be interesting because I love flowers that have a nice scent.

I see everyone has been busy. @Michael Hewett I like to iron too and it is a good part of my drapery workroom set up. I have a 7 liter boiler system which is a joy to use and unlike @Upsydaisy I listen to television while ironing instead of music. @Victoria I hope you recover quickly but being able to crash out of bed says that you've got good muscles to accomplish that feat!

I am a bit tired as I did get all of the shoveling and reconstruction and on and on done. I still have lots to do out there but the heavy slugging is done. And as I said, the rain is giving me a leg up with much needed watering.

                          Cheers all :coffee:

Morning all. 7:54Am here, 53F degrees here. Rained last night.
Getting ready for our 3 hour drive North to Hawthorn, NY to pick up a "special" car battery for the show car. I looked up the town seems its known for a couple unique things.
Brother-in-law over yesterday--he and husband working on his car together. That male bonding thing I guess. And he has lunch and dinner here also. Usually family drama is their discussion. I just walk away, its nuts. (their side family). And they say only women gossip. LOL.

It will be a nice drive, guess I'll drive first, I like driving, but lately can't on the big highways at night with all those lights, my eyes are not good anymore for that. Country roads at night are ok. Well got to go. Have a good day all.

Thanks Lori. I static cycle three times a week to keep my muscles strong.

I love Night Scented Stock, glorious scent. I used to grow it in England but have not tried it here.

                              Safe journey @redstar .

They are nice @CanadianLori, I always used to grow them years ago.

Nice to have music zones @Upsydaisy it's good to have a variety
I often have something playing in the house - 60s and 70s usually, or something classical as long as there's a melody to it, but I have never liked it when I'm gardening, I think of it as an intrusion into my peaceful gardening world.
                                Aren't I miserable :heehee: but I don't care ...

I had a pleasant day thank you and everything went to plan, clock is being mended and I had a nice lunch in a nice cafe. I hope you've had a good day too xx
