I had a good experience opening my latest bank account with nationwide building society.

 

Eating a fresh Cream Donut in town today

 

Had a nice one this week, our Tesco home delivery man complimented our front garden a lot and pointed out (and named) several plants he likes. We also had a good discussion about the bowl pondlet I keep as a drinking pool, about urban wildlife and in general an unexpected good mood chat with a stranger who wasn't in a hurry in spite of his schedule.

 

I had a similar one with a morrisons delivery man last summer who was from Colombia and he remarked upon my Brug and a few other things in the garden.
No one else who lives round here even notices the stuff.

The Sun is shining and we're going out for the day to enjoy it.

 

Looking out the kitchen window, I noticed that for the first time since I planted a tiny sapling of crab apple about ten years ago, it's in full bloom.

A day off! Had my hair cut and in Wilko's till queue was was referred to as "The Young Lady" With formidable self control I didn't turn to look around me to find the mysterious Young Lady but in a ladylike manner had a brief chat about watering cans with the two elderly gentlemen.

Sharing a pizza with my daughter in a pub (they make rather decent ones there), peoplewatching and walking in the sunny wind.

Life is good

 

A double-flowered clematis has it's first flower open, even before the iris!
Had the first swim of the year this afternoon....chilly but sooooo good

 

My stepdaughter is flying home from Chile today. Her flight has left Santiago International for Bogota and though 50 minutes late her connecting flight to Heathrow isn't close to their new arrival time. My wife is delighted she is coming home (she has been doing fieldwork for her PhD) though it will be next week before she actually returns to Edinburgh.

 

Just got a new ISA 4.40% one year.
Not keeping up with inflation but tax free.
