Our cowslips and primroses are continuing to proliferate without any help from ourselves. The red cowslips are popular with friends who ask us to dig some up for them :)

The red cowslips seem to cross breed with the primulas and primroses so we get some interesting combinations. They also cross with the yellow ones creating different shades of orange.

I show this Hazel regularly because I love its bark and trunk - although it's not a dog or an elephant  P1560786.JPG

These are two of four large ceramic pots that were given to us because they had become too much to cope with. I have started cutting out, with great difficulty, a couple of plants at a time and potting them up and selling them. We should eventually raise a few hundred pounds for the charity.

Our wild area (about 50ft x 100ft) is still in it's cowslip and primrose stage and it will be a couple of months before the orchids appear :fingers crossed:

Although it is early for Fuchsias to flower yet, I put some rooted cutting out on the balcony this evening & took an update photo of the Fuchsia 'Garden News' standard I'm creating.

Fuchsia 'Garden News' Rooted cuttings moved to balcony 26th April 2023.jpg
          .
Fuchsia 'Garden News' standard on balcony 26th April 2023.jpg
          .
The cuttings came from the first pinch out of the branches on the standard. I potted them up a few weeks ago but they have been in the kitchen until now.

I have since rooted the 2nd pinch out cuttings & have a 3rd (& last!) batch rooting in the propagator in the kitchen.

The balcony will ba awash in this Fuchsia this summer!:rolleyespink:

Hi @Victoria they are Exochorda x macrantha 'The Bride'. They are in flower for about a month and always look fantastic. They have a very attractive arching and drooping habit.

Nice plants @roders , but can I ask, did you have the grille over the pond made specially or did you make it?

The grille over the pond stays on over winter ,as soon as the Lillies show leaves we take it off.
My wife is a welder so it was made to measure…………..no the company she worked for made it for us foc. It will take the weight of a human and is in two parts so we can lift it off easily.
It was about 15 years ago we had two grandchildren ,the pond had to go or make it safe……..and the Herons never come near.
