    Hello all,

Just finished moving the last of the chillies to the third Wilma System. This time it was the turn of the sweet peppers : -
    2 x Romana
2 x King of the North
2 x Corno Di Torro Rosso
    2 x Giant Bell Pepper

    20230425_162753.jpg

The other peppers survived the cold overnight so the 1kw heater did its thing.

Now, a short break while the tomatoes germinate before starting all over again!

    Regards to all

    Ademission

I'm only growing 5 x Tabasco plants this year and they look very stunted compared to the much bigger sweet peppers behind. I thought it was poor compost but both chillies and sweet peppers are in the same compost:

I don't think there is time to re-sow so I'll have to buy new plants :(

My overwintered locotos have many flower buds about to pop, same with the aji limon. Both the capsicum annuums are not looking anywhere near as good, which has been my experience with overwintering them before. I won't bother trying to overwinterthem again I think

I had 4 spare locotos so have planted them outside in the allotment. If they die.....they die

Glasgow, so it's a little cool. That type prefer cooler temps than most chillis though, something like 8c at night is fine. I wouldn't bother trying it with the other varieties, they will all be under glass for a long time yet.

They would just get composted otherwise as I have another 4 or so of them

I was going to guess in the south! Interesting that locotos are hardier than others.

The overwintered ones have been outside for a couple of weeks now and are fine. 2 of the allotment ones got eaten by slugs, the other two are surviving at least.

These chillis only go out during the day, aji norteno is the really tall large leaves one. God knows what height they will reach when i put them in a large pot under the pop-up greenhouse

Mine have all started suffering in their pots and haven't really got going at all. I've moved them to the greenhouse, where the toms perked up moving from indoors, and have planted two in the ground to see what happens.

Chillies can catch up to a certain extent :blue thumb: You'll only be a few weeks behind.

I sowed mine late and they're nowhere near the size of yours - but I'm not deterred

I left one plant from last year in the greenhouse, in the warm propagator, because it was still producing chillies. I went out there to pick the last few and intended to chuck the plant out. It has got a reprieve as it's covered in flowers. could even be about 100 of them. :rolleyespink:

It's still way too cold to put mine in the blowaway greenhouse so windowsill Tinkerbelling with a small brush it is :noidea:

Padron peppers have loads of buds and thankfully the plants are not too big.

Hungarian Black is a pretty plant (the light doesn't do justice to the flower colour, blame the weather ) and very early. I already have two fruit :hapfeet: The colour leaches out when pickled turning the glossy black into mushy green. This year we'll only eat these fresh

The tiny Basket of Fire is also flowering, the fruit are very cute when pickled. It's also tasty, with just the right amount of heat.

Jalapenos are not doing much apart from acting as Aphid food. Some Fairy washing up liquid it is, again.

Just six peppers this year; Mini Lidl, Redskin O.P, Bogdan, Mini Belle Chocolate, Victoria and Large Yellow Sweet. Should have had another four varieties but germination this year has been rotten. IMG_20230514_141129.jpg

I grew from seed a few years ago. They started off great but suddenly started sulking. It turned out to be sciarid flies. Could that have been the cause?
