    Hi

Has anyone else had a poor tulip display this year ?

I spent a fair bit on different varieties and I not a handful out of 300 have bloomed .

It’s been very cold and overcast in Yorkshire so far .

    not a happy bunny

I dont think most people have had problems, I dont grow many myself.

Just wondering if you got some dodgy bulbs, did they all come from the same place.

Have you just got leaves and no flowers?

I planted over 1000 new tulips for this year in pots and borders. All have flowered well or are about to if later flowering varieties.

Sorry to hear yours have not been very good.

Good morning I have had a good year for tulips lots in the back garden and quite a few in the front garden:smile:

Hi @Shaneoak , sorry to hear about your disappointment!

Did you get leaves, or just nothing? Are your bulbs in containers or in the ground?

If you got nothing at all, it's possible that the bulbs either died (rotting in wet soil is a good bet around here), or got stolen by greedy mice or squirrels.

If you got leaves but no flowers on first year bulbs, it's down to the quality of the bulbs and worth complaining to the supplier. First year bulbs should have all they need to flower, provided that the bulb doesn't die. It's the next summer that is tricky to re-pack the bulbs with the energy for the summer after.

Mine have been good ,apart from being battered by all this recent rain and high winds but I'm right down near the south coast.

Our tulips have been brilliant this year. And early. Tulips and Daffodils in bloom at the same time.

It’s like some are stunted and others are simply a few leaves. There’s quite a few that look ‘blind’ too. I do have a infestation of crouch grass , I wonder if it’s this !? But the hycianth all bloomed great

Mine mostly come from Peter Nyssen and Sarah Raven each year and have always been good. What a shame yours have been so dire. Unlikely to be poor bulbs from those 2 suppliers I would think.

What time did you plant them @Shaneoak, last year obviously, but what month.
Not planting deep enough seems to be the biggest cause of poor flowering.
