Norway Maple?

    I found this new growth at the base of another tree, I was going to pull it originally as the whole area is full of weeds and needs clearing. But this looked quite nice.

    A quick bit of Googling says it’s maybe a Norway Maple?

      Maple, don't know if has another specific name. Native to European countries.

      Suckers maybe.
      Maybe it has been used as the root stock for a grafted tree ....to grow a special tree on top.

      Correction...
      Acers or maples are found all over the world.
      They are not just native to European countries.
