Most have come back from the base before, but it was probably 13years ago, I was younger then.

I saw a green one about 4feet tall in a garden centre yesterday and they wanted £60 for it.

Callothamnus quadrifidus (one sided Bottlebrush) flowering now, kept in the greenhouse during recent freezes but hopefully now they can stay outside.
Not overly attractive but I am keeping them as I raised them from seed. brought back from Oz. calothamnus.JPG

I have some as well on the balcony that have survived the terrible frosts of December 2022 & January 2023. I find their seeds germinating in pots all the time! Yet they won't flower inside the flat! Nor, for that matter, will T.zebrina! I've had many plants of it growing in the kitchen but never a flower in over 20 years! Yet when we lived in Spain it flowered indoors with lovely pink flowers all the time!

I love the pandorea @noisette47 , and that hibiscus is gorgeous @Victoria .
I didn't realise oleander can be scented. I have some grown from cuttings kindly sent by Hazel a few years ago, but I'm just happy if they flower!

I messed about for years trying to grow both that and Podranea ricasoliana from seed, but splashed out on the variegated Pandorea (which survives outside on a sheltered wall) and then the plain-leaved one (which is fast outgrowing it's pot).
Did the double pink olly take? It's got a pronounced perfume, some say of old-fashioned face powder :) It's no good, I'm going to have to find a way of getting cuttings to you again

I've struggled with Nerium oleander it always gets black stems and I'm watching a big bush up the road from me that has suffered badly in the freeze this year, I'm waiting to see if it recovers.
As regarding scent, I can remember on really hot days many plants have a scent that is unnoticeable on our normal summer days.
I think if you get into the 80F plus the scent of many plant comes out, or maybe its just my nose.
