I think the kids should be there as well, after all, they seem to be hanging on to the titles.

I think it's just their business. As in literally, their business, as in what they sell to maintain their huge income.

If my family was high profile enough to be in the public eye, I guarantee I'd be calling regular meetings with them to discuss what I'd say to the media. It'd be like, 'dad, remember that time you lost your temper and kicked off at such and such? Is it ok if I reveal that to the media?'. My dad would be like, 'yeah, that should be worth a few hundred grand, while you're at it, why not mention when your sister did such and such?'. At this point my sister might object or she might suggest an embellishment, and all the while I'd be taking the minutes. Then I'd take a few days to compose a statement, share it with the family, get unanimous sign off or tweak it as required. Then when agreement is reached, sell the latest installment of the story.

I don't know that's what they do, but it wouldn't surprise me. I see it as no different to reality TV. Like in Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. Nobody can tell me that after many series of it, those restaurant owners don't know that Ramsay is going to yell at them in front of the cameras, then go into the kitchen to find half rotten food. It's all just drama. I'm sure it's based on real events, but I suspect the information that comes out is carefully curated.

@pete are you saying Diana or Camilla decided to cause trouble? I don't think either of them did?

I think Diana knew she was pushing the boundaries in the latter stages of her life.
If she had just faded away into the background like Fergie did she might still be alive today but she was pushing in order to get her own back.
Its probably why Ginger doesn't like spending too much time over here these days.

When she died, she was a passenger in a four tonne armoured limo that was being driven at high speed, allegedly to evade paperazzi chasing them in a half tonne fiat Uno. The physics don't add up for it to have been anything other than an accident caused by reckless driving on the part of her driver.

That's what they say, I wouldn't be sure either way, but lots of things didn't quite add up at the time.
Dont know much about physics, but if she was in a 4 ton armoured car why the hell we they running away from Fiat Uno.
        Only history will tell.

Arrogance on the part of the driver? Even the average limo that us peasants occasionally hire for special events tend to have surprisingly powerful engines. The driver probably just thought he could easily leave the fiat Uno standing, which he could, except he was evidently not very skilled at high speed driving, as indeed most people aren't, but often think they are.

The driver of the limo had been drinking alcohol beforehand. Why was he allowed behind the wheel of the car?

A mystery as Pete says that may come out in the future. Although the mystery surrounding the death of Princess Grace of Monaco many years ago has not come to light.

I used to be of the opinion that they ( the royal family) were all a bunch of spongers. Whilst there are undoubtedly some spongers still present, my view has somewhat changed. I actually quite like Charles. Whilst some might not agree with him on some issues, he seems to me to be passionate and genuine. He appears to have a good sense of humour and seems to be more ‘in touch’ than his predecessors. Whilst he has enjoyed lots of privileges, I don’t envy him at all. Having to tow the line, being constantly analysed and intruded upon by the press, I couldn’t hack it. What happened to Diana was tragic, but to me they were both victims of the establishment, the protocols. Charles, having fulfilled his ‘duty’, finally got his girl. They both seem to be really happy, which is how it should be. As for Harry, as far as I’m concerned, all he’s done is dump on his own family for money.
So, let’s throw off the shackles of cynicism (for tomorrow at least) and enjoy what is after all, a moment in history :)

@Freddy ,that is more or less how I see it, you just have a better way of telling it.
The faceless establishment are the ones to blame.

I decided to go out shopping when they went into Westminster Abbey. That turned out to be a good decision. :blue thumb:

Almost no traffic on my way to town and very little in town (roads are usually crowded on a Saturday) and Tesco was almost empty. :hapydancsmil:

I'm watching it on TV and I like the processions and all the military and horses but I'm getting really fed up with all the religious waffling and carrying on, they, the Church, sure do know how to hang things out.
I dont think I could have sat there since 9am waiting to hear all this.

The brightness of all the colours is something I've never noticed before.

I have over the years been in the presence of most of the senior Royals since Diana's death, they seem to be more in touch with the public and it's ways than they once were, in troubled times where most of the trouble seems to be caused by politicians and presidents, I kind of like the continuity of someone at the head who are there as figure heads with little actual power, but bring a bit of dignity(most of them) to our world and make the UK quite different from most of the world. I don't want a Macron, Putin or Trump as our head of state. I don't want royalty running the country, we elect those who do the day to day stuff.

If there is a God who actually listens to prayers, I hope he had no plans for today. Watching the coronation, there are so many prayers going on, poor old god can't be getting anything done. What they should have done is made up a meeting agenda with all the points they wanted to cover, then scheduled a half our call, then poor old god would be able to get on with his day.
