DX Express are our nemisis. They deliver to any house in the village that has even a portion of our address. The thing is, our cul-de-sac has a postcode all to its own and there are only 19 houses!

It is not the company. It is the driver for your area. I used to deliver parts to garages around the Fife coast. If I was on holiday the guy who stood in for me didn't give a toss and I would catch all the flack on my return.

We use Evri regularly for sending packages (usually 2 or 3 a week) they're always delivered the next day - as long as we drop it off by midday. We use them because they're cheaper than the others as we need to have a tracking number (P.O. charge £5 for tracking and Evri are free for it) and our drop off point is the Co-op which is nearer than any other company's drop off.

An update as regards my farmer Gracie bulbs.

I was very happy on condition of the bulbs and I'm pleased to be able to say that !!! ...... As I got quite carried away !!!!!

Somewhat .,.......my orders over a couple month period totalled to £ 300 n odd quid .
.very pleased to say everything has performed and still some to come through, but signs of breaking surface.

Impatiently waiting and looking forwards to the foxtail lilies flowering oddly the ones in the ground are only just breaking surface while the ones which I put in pots still outside are 8 inch tall !!!!!.

Ps......a note to self..........slow down this year on ordeting......!!!!

Or will need to extend the garden into the field and know what hubby will say
                :heehee:
                :love30:.

I went a bit mad in the end of season daff sale and I've got a fantastic display at the moment, 3 different types. Planted them quite late but they have performed well.
I also bought loads of tulips and 3 varieties of muscari. The muscari have been brilliant and the tulips are all just on the verge of flowering.
The oriental lilies I received a month or so ago are already progressing well.
And at the weekend I received a load of bare root perennials which I have just potted up.
So yes, I know what it's like to have a serious habit! And they've just announced 25% of everything too ...

I have to say most of the time Peter Nyssen is cheaper than them and without any special offers...but FG can be useful for extra varieties and bare root.

Plus I appreciate that Nyssen haven't used neonicotinoids and plastic for a few years now.

Nyssens are usually my first port of call. They've always been excellent, and deal with any problems very promptly.
I agree about delivery drivers. We used to have a really good young lad who was with Hermes. I think he probably became very disillusioned. Don't blame him. Now that they're Evri, things have been very hit and miss, but again - we've recently got another young lad who is very good, and very pleasant.
If they treated their drivers properly, that might make a difference, but I don't see that happening any time soon...

I bought Peony Shirley Temple from FG earlier this year and very pleased to find this morning that it has 2 buds.

It's always nice when they get to that stage. A couple of Itoh ones I got from FG last year are lovely but no flowers...they're not deeply potted. Strangely my three Shirleys in the ground are really slow this year while Coral Charm is massive...plants, they keep us guessing @katecat58

My farmer gracy Shirley Temple is now into its 3rd year and no flowers so far. I did read it cam take a couple of years for them to establish. I was careful not to plant it deep etc but if no joy this year I may lift it. It has to earn its place so no blooms means no place in the bed.
