It happened under the growlamps in a spare room, I think they were too jam packed together. Really I should have planted them by now.

Have you ever kept them under grow lamps this late in the year>

I was just digging some compost out of a bag and its full of white and yellow fungus, obviously I'm using it, but breaking it down as I go, its peat free stuff.

Do you think it could be a compost bourn fungus that has liked the conditions under your grow lamps and started attacking living material.

I aim to plant on 21st May, earliest was the 7th one year. I go by the weather and wait till the first fruit have set. They are still 2 weeks away from that stage I reckon. They have mostly been out on the patio during the day and brought in overnight since mid April. Because of the cloudy weather I crammed them under the lamps last weekend, maybe a mistake.

It could be something in the compost, all my chillies are stunted but sweet peppers ok. Something is not right for them.

I’m thinking it could possibly be ventilation John? (@JWK )

Yes that must have played a big part @Freddy - they are now outside under shelter - daren't put them into the greenhouse.

Well...I have planted the toms in the greenhouse, probably a bit of a risk as there are going to be a few low temperatures before we get to June, but they had to go in at some point.

Also...in favour of better ventilation would you leave the planting space Infront of the Louvre clear?

I can sacrifice a Sweet Pepper and move the tomato plant further down the line to replace the pepper if needed.

Mine is full of cobwebs, old pots, dropped compost and all kinds of buckets full of mixed compost.
Even the glass is green, mostly.

No, as long as you can open/close the vent. I plant mine in front of them.

Thanks John... I'll leave it in place, there's a good foot of space between the vent and the plant so still plenty of room for air flow.
