Waht's the best multipurpose bagged compost which doesn't have loads of lumps in it?

Title says it all. :-) I'm looking for a bagged, readily available compost with a fine 'crumb' (can't think of a better word!) with no lumps and chunks of wood, etc which is good for seeds/seedlings AND as a multipurpose compost.

    Thanks.

Even the same product seems to vary but I've found westland with added JI to be fairly fine.

Wilko's own brand seed compost. Very fine and feels nice. After the seed sowing period I have been mixing the leftovers with some rotted manure and grit and it works well in borders and containers.

It's what all amateur gardeners want! A lot of clumping and lumps come from packing and storage but the consistency of all mpc over the last decade has been horribly varied.
I picked up a bag of melcourt at the start of the season; it was last year's stock so cheap but have found it very pleasant to use

The best results this year for seeds and cuttings has been Morrisons coir blocks. They come compressed with added perlite. Stick a block in a bucket with water and it expands in a couple of hours to make a fine crumbly free flowing compost.

For pricking out and potting on I've used Westlands peat free from Wickes, it has lumps and bits of wood but acceptable.

I don't think you'll find a single product that meets all your requirements.

Melcourt range of composts have a good texture, flow freely, but you pay for it.
