Monday Morning, 7:22AM here. Have a 9AM appointment with car dealer for Oil change etc. Taking a book with me, I wait for the car to get done. Pull up a chair in the waiting room, put my feet up and relax. Its the Tow car. After the car, some grocery store shopping on way home, have the list. (so nothing grand)
Planted all the seeds I have yesterday. Maybe I will have time to get up to the nursery that has the good bedding annuals, for my pots. Every year I do this one pot near the front door, and I say to myself, that combo is so nice, have to remember it for next year, then I forget what it was. LOL. should take a picture of it.
When I travel I have to really focus on what I eat. Resturants use the worse salt, or something, I get so bloated, legs swell. When at home, none of that happens. Could be the cheap fats also. Who knows.
I carry a small purse, that I can cross chest the strap.
Dahlias, @Upsydaisy , so many beautiful ones. just have not gotten into them. guess its the lifting and storing for the winter that stops me.
    Have a grand day all.

        Good day
It is 48f 8c and super sunny. The guessers say that tomorrow and wednesday will be below seasonal temps and some areas north of me are getting a frost warning. I have most of my annuals planted in and I'm just going to hope they aren't bothered by this little dip.

I drove my granddaughter back to her place yesterday and traffic was just horrendous. I'm going to assume it was all of the caring sons and daughters out to visit their Mums. I've already gotten a message from her saying she wants to come back this weekend!

Today I have the joy of going to the dump. I disassembled a cold frame skeleton which was heavy wood and need to dispose of the components. At the waste center they will probably throw them in a chipper and will get properly recycled. I am having a much more "in depth" spring clean up outside as I had been holding on to bits and pieces of things until I was absolutely sure I wouldn't need them again. I do not have a shed for storage and simply keep 13l recycle bins at the side of the house just for storing such things as winter covers for the shrubs and other things that can be reused each year.

@Upsydaisy I once had a black patent leather purse which was round and had a clock on one side. It had a very simple face and did actually work for a bit. Once the clockworks broke, I got rid of it because the round shape wasn't all that practical.

I'd best get out there and turn on the system to water various zones.

        Cheers :coffee:

So compact and handy whenever I don't need to carry much. ..one compartment for my phone one for my small purse and glasses and one for my masks. Easy.:dbgrtmb:

The film was brilliant and such fun to watch....a real spirit lifter.:roflol:

            Goooooooood morning all.

I feel that Spring has finally sprung ...at long last.
I will get my trusty trowel out and start planting out today!!!

I'm taking some plants over to my sister's at some point today and will sneakily nab some Hosta offshoots from her.;):blue thumb:

As I have already mentioned the film was a great laugh and proves that you're never too old to have fun. Everyone left the cinema singing the main catchy song!!

We now have a list of 6 up and coming films that we want to see...

I must go and limber up my planting out muscle so have a great day everyone.

Morning all, a bright, breezy start.

J goes to Alvor this morning for his yearly (late by none months) cancer checkup. Only a 45 minute drive (he will allow one hour) much better than the train journey to Lisbon where he had his op in 2015 which took 8/9 hours out of the day total. I am past due for mine. Although I was Discharged in 2019 I really should make an appointment also, but have had too many other health issues to fret about. I will have my Neurologist in June/July.

Van has a shouting match with not Tom at 9pm but then he came in and that was it although AN Other walked through The Jungle Room at 3am. I suppose all these Moggies have homes and run loose at night. I would worry sick if mine were out at night. :hate-shocked:

              That's it for today.

                Morning Vicky.

Hope all goes well at J's appointment, I'm sure it will.:dbgrtmb:

Now you get on that phone and book your check up too...then you'll both be fully MOT'ed and raring to go and enjoy the summer without any worries lingering at the back of your mind...go, go , go.:blue thumb:

I agree I would be worried too. Our cats were always called in during the evening. We didn't have cat flaps either but they were fine and let out ( if we could wake them!!:heehee:) first thing in the morning.

                Have a lovely day.xx

                  Good day
It is 53f 10c but for some reason feels chillier. The sky is covered in thick haze but the sun is still trying to pierce it here and there.

@Upsydaisy forgive my laziness in not going back and re-reading past posts but I don't remember seeing what the name of the fun film was. Please?

I like hostas too and have several but I am careful not to have too many as I don't want my garden to turn into "hosta heaven". If I had a large estate or something though, that would be fun to have a big bed with oodles of varieties in it.

@Victoria your home must feel like a comforting cat sanctuary for the night prowlers. I hope they let you get a full nights sleep!

@redstar the lady posing with the car looks mysterious :) Is the vette a numbers matching original? What year is it please?

It is supposed to be going down to 39f 3c tonight so whatever annuals I have left to plant will not be going in today. Happily the weather guessers say this is the last night of worrisome lows.:blue thumb:

I've got some research to do. I want to find some small (inexpensive) wood working projects for my granddaughters and some Henry Mancini music to download to cd for my mustang. It is fun cruising with the convertible top down and listening to Elephant Walk and fun instrumentals like that.

                  Cheers :coffee:

He was home by noon. Nice doctor (English speaking, few in Lisbon are) ... we both prefer English when it comes to medical issues. Dr Andre said he can't get J's records from the IPO (Portuguese Institute of Oncology) due to Privacy law so J has to request it. J told him he can never get a response so Dr Andre gave him a couple of names and private e-addresses and telephone numbers. Then J will take the details back.

Had a good night's sleep as J doesn't look at the CCTV till morning. At least we have not discovered poop or spraying anywhere.

                    We love Henry Mancini. :dbgrtmb:

NO. it has been tubed, cut and chopped. has its original frame, transmission. Seats have been removed, new seats put in---hand carved wooded with a fabricator installed. hard top removed, window removed. It is a C2. with an LS1 engine, 18 inch tires. The only corvett roadster in USA. A Canada car show last June asked us to bring it up, all expenses paid, but the virus was tricky still then. It is considered a custom car. Thanks for asking. Its a 1964. She is a professional model. The pictures of the car got into a calandar . The photographer asked us to take the pictures for the calandar, and he provided the model. we just went along, did not pay for anything.

Morning all. Tuesday. Primary voting day here, so getting out for that. And to my nursery for the flowers for my pots. Brother-in-law stayed the night. He likes coming over to fix "his" car in our driveway, guess cause husband has all sorts of tools.
Met some lovely people while waiting for my oil change yesterday, I was amazed what we had in common as we were chatting. Life is neat with unexpected surprises. They will be going to the car show we will be in, in June.
Still need more work with the garden. And @Upsydaisy , I do have lots of hostas. but I do have 3 acreas. Selecting different profiles of hostas, also. from the wee ones to the tall vase shapped type, and blues, multicolored etc.
Its going to be hot where we will be heading to next week. hate that. taking all my light linens. Do you all know hotels here, the windows do not open. hate that. Anyway, have a good day all.

That is interesting. I'm going to assume it would be the Bothwell show that invited? It is a very large, well attended show. My old vehicle is all original and numbers matching which the insurance company placed a set value to pay if written off, or if it got hit, they would pay to source and replace anything that was damaged up to the total of the write off amount because of the fact that it is not modified in any way. I have a calendar too with the car on it. Somewhere... It's probably in the drawer where the best in show plaques and things are stashed. But compared to yours, it is a plain jane.

Yes, the pandemic sure cut out a lot of the car shows!

Yes, @CanadianLori , when we were up in Syracuse, NY, they did mention how they missed the participation of the Canada folks, or was it the show in Burlington, Vermont. Maybe Burlington, Vermont is where they said that. We took a couple days to stay up there in Burlington, after the show and drove north the Canada border not too far. Saw the Champlain Islands, its a beautiful state, Vermont is. We will again be in Burlington, Vermont this year. think its September. not a bad drive for us. Get me some Vermont Maple syrup. Do not recall the name of the car show in Canada. Ok, Later.

Wow. How interesting! I did a heritage colonial home in Burlington for a client. He wanted very plain cotton window dressings fabricated the way they would have been back in the day. I also made all of the canvas supports for the bed frames. We used canvas that was the same weight as the sails on the boats of those times and I provided roping to attach them to the wood frames.

I cannot for the life of me remember the address as it was at least 8 years ago.

Bothwell is not too distant from the Ambassador Bridge crossing.

                                Good morning. :)

Another super day yesterday and today too I think.
Made a tiny dent in my plant stash after taking a load over to my sister's and potting up some of my divided Dahlias.

Will hopefully get a lot more permanently rehomed out in the borders today.

Glad J's appointment when well Vicky, hope it won't take too long to get his records transferred over to his new Consultant.

Lighhearted silliness that is a real tonic at times....something we should all get a good dose of occasionally imo.

Don't blame me if you can't stop singing the cheesey song!! :roflol:

                                Have a brilliant day everyone.
