My wife was asking, "Was this there first season and if not, did you tie the leaves up and let them wither after last season's flowering?".

I’m fairly experienced and n tulip planting. So, always TRY to plant them 3 bulbs deep , but bearing in mind there’s 300 plus , I
        Probably shallow plant a few.

Not around here really , I was in Tatton park, Cheshire and there displays looked magnificent! I feel disheartened. I don’t have much money to spend and when they don’t bloom , you feel like ‘can I ever afford to risk this again ?’

I know. It didn’t look like that. I’ve had that affect them a 10 years ago. There’s a of heavily rooted network of fruit trees , privit bushes and now this horrible couch grass that’s everywhere, and I’m wondering if this is part of the issue. Overcrowding.

So you've been growing tulips for 10 years? You must be an expert on them by now - what have you done differently from the last 10 years which stops the tulips from flowering - there is your answer.

Thanks for the reply . Looking back some were slightly dried. Maybe this was it.
