I'll be ok then because I still use a map, I keep it on my lap and look down from time to time, of course that means I have to keep putting my glasses on and off, but at least I wont fall foul of the phone laws.:roflol:

Got an E mail from British gas telling me to book a 'Personalised energy savings plan', and to start my trip of going 'net zero'.

They are doing it half price, only £49.

I assume then they will tell me I need a completely new heating system, solar panels and new windows and doors, more loft insulation, the list will go on, I'll be lucky to come away with a bill less than 20 grand.

Maybe they are getting hard up.

I've been hearing a dog howling, barking and crying all day, since 8am and its still going on now at 4pm, its the house over the back from me, they have a young black spaniel.

It appears to have been put out in the garden while they are at work and its hating it, its been going on for more than 6 months now.

It doesn't appear to have a kennel or anything if it rains as its just sitting on the concrete howling at the door.
        Its diving me nuts.

Sounds like a job for the RSPCA. It's fair enough that a dog should gradually be accustomed to being left for a few hours, provided it has everything it needs, but not to be locked out all day without shelter. That's just cruel.

Its something I might have to do if it goes on any longer.
Its stopped now, I presume someone has come home.

Just wonder how interested the RSPCA would be as its not really ill treatment as yet but I suppose if I can see the dog out there in the pouring rain one day it could be classed as neglect.

Apart from the animal cruelty aspect, doesn't it come under the heading of noise nuisance?

It would, but it's the local council that deals with that. Basically it involves waiting a very long time, keep a meticulous log, for eventually someone to come round with a decibel meter thingy, then they go away, you wait even longer, then......... Nothing happens.

Down here the Council don't have a decibel meter you have to download an app to your phone and then record the noise, fill out a log and sen the data to the Council: then wait and then ......... Nothing happens

Our council has stopped cutting verges 'for wildlife '. Nothing to do with scrimping or being unable to plan. Honest.

A fuming dog walker has compared the overgrown grass at his local park to 1980s sci-fi series The Day of the Triffids.
The man said he has complained to Medway Council three times over the “unacceptable state” of Northcote Road Recreation Park in Strood

But the local authority has said the greenspace is regularly cut but the recent spring weather means the grass is growing quicker than usual so takes more time to maintain.:heehee::heehee::heehee:

We only have our verges cut by council once a year, as you say For wildlife but a farmer put's on his hedge trimer and cut them his self for safety (only because he had a accident not driving carefully and on the phone) so wildlife isn't what it's done for

We have a farmer who doesn't like dog walkers, lots of sign's on his boundery's saying pick up your dog poo, but all through the winter the local hunt have been hunting with dogs all over his land and the hunt don't pick poo up not even when they run them up the roads in summer time, 30 dogs and lots of poo on the roads around here, and looking at the poo i wonder what they are fed on  may be it's some of the dead calf's from the local farm's :pathd::whistle::heehee:
