Morning Vicky I am indeed...floating high up there!!:hapydancsmil:

I don't wear mine all the time either, I'm absolutely fine on our stairs but when out and about I definitely don't wear them when using stairs and oddly enough escalators...I feel quite weird if I wear them on those...strange...I think it's the fear of losing my step getting on and off of them.

Well done with your Portuguese version of Wordle. :star:

Our youngest here has been learning Spanish over the years and is now quite fluent. He prefers not to use English when he travels , obviously Spanish was a much need essential for his two trips to South America and as he plans to go again this coming Winter. In certain areas you really need it as they don't speak any other language.
He reads a fair bit and now buy books fictional and non in Spanish.....this he finds keeps his level up inbetween visits.

Right must dash...happy pottering :) xx

      Good day
It is 53f 11c and again, quite sunny.

My clients showed up right on time yesterday and after they left, I went out to get a few groceries. The shop is about 1 mile from me but I took a 10 mile detour and just happened to go by a gardening center so I stopped in and bought a few plants. They are all planted in this morning. I did it before the first kettle of the day boiled.

      2 clematis, 2 woodruff. 3 hardier tomato plants (2 beefsteak 1 roma) and :redface::redface::redface::redface: 4 cleome.

I've put some fabric on the cutting table to be a reminder to get making some more summer tops. Most of my empty hangers are from throwing out worn out ones last year.

@Victoria are you rearranging the furniture in the room where the piano was?

@Upsydaisy I'm glad you're having a good visit. It is very fulfilling to have pleasant conversations with grown up children who are now also friends.

@Flumpy and @Michael Hewett I am picturing you puttering in your gardens and wish you a very pleasant day.

I best get going here. It is a going to be a hilda and corrie morning!

      Cheers :coffee:

        Morning Lori.

No, as such. There is a wooden bench that goes there but J wants to paint it black first. Will put up a pic when done.

The guys got back by 11,30. It was a massive gated property, probably 5-7 beds/bath, swimming pool backing onto the golf course. J showed me an aerial Google view. The young teen (12-14) who got the piano in his bedroom was delighted.

          Here's a colourful one!!

          OIP.jpeg

          Good morning everyone.

Hope you enjoyed /are enjoying ( for those of us who are having a Bank Holiday ) the weekend.

Son is leaving in the next half hour :cry3::cry3:as he is planning on working from home today ( to add to his holiday stash pot of days he'll be owed off).
We've had a fabulous time. We visited my brother yesterday, not too sure if he did recognise him at first but greeted him warmly nevertheless . After being subtly told who he was he kept asking him how tall he was and how old he was now. Bless him, it was as if he hadn't seen him since he was a child and that he couldn't believe how much he had grown!!

That is so very true Lori as they leave behind their childhood days the changes are amazing and you discover you now have a new set of really close friends .:):grphg:

Obviously we haven't touched the garden for the last 2 days so hopefully we'll get to catch up a bit on things out there today.
The temps. are going to be a bit lower so that should make it a lot easier and more pleasant to work in..

          Enjoy your day too.

Think I need to find a new theme later.

What a posh loo Upsy. So pleased the weekend has gone well and hopefully you will get out into the garden today.

It is not a holiday here so just a Post Office run and maybe my new Red Adenium will be there, although she only posted it from Spain on Friday. Turns out the last one which took two weeks came from Tenerife!

            Have a good one all.

              Good day
It is 60f 14c and sunny sunny sunny! I have some things I want to do outside and I hope this mild weather and intense sun heat up (predicted 24c) and germinate the rest of the grass seed in the area I'd like to finish filling in. :fingers crossed:

I have already been out for awhile with the hose on "jet" blast knocking down the white, "ready to fly off heads", of all the dandelions in next door's back yard. The grass along their side of the fence is nearly up to my waist. :yikes: They did chop down most of the middle to about 6 inches but it is messy and full of those dandelions. I hope by washing down those heads that the dandelions keep contained pretty much to their horrible yard.

@Upsydaisy, that toilet gave me a giggle. It reminds me of the posh loo at the Athaeneum Club in London. Theirs are not colourful but the surrounding marble, hand towels, etc are very ornate.

My to do list for today is mostly just puttering type jobs. Very laid back.

              Cheers :coffee:

                A cute one.

                Good morning .

Enjoyed a productive day in the garden yesterday and got a fair bit done. Edging forever nearer to the finish line with regards to planting out, probably got about 300 plants to go. :dbgrtmb:

Only trouble now is that everything is bone dry and we have very little water left in the butts.

Might pop over to my sister's at some point today.

                Did your plant arrive Vicky?

                Have a lovely day everyone.

Very cute seat. This boy needs yesterday's posh one! :cat-kittyandsmiley:

Yes, plant arrived ... only posted Friday ... up in Show Purchases.

No visitations on the windowsill. This peace leads so good sleeps. :snooze:

J wrote the IPO Hospital Lisbon and he has a reply saying they have forwarded details to HPA Alvor so now await appointment from them.

Nothing planned for today. I don't know where @shiney gets where these storms are.

                    Morning Vicky.

Sorry haven't had time to check out other threads lately, glad it arrived and swiftly too .:dbgrtmb:

It was on our news, they showed satellite images of the whole area and showed storms and a high rainfall that are on their way. Your area was on the very edge so may very well not get any.

That's good news that J's medical records are now with his new Dr.

We have another super day here, a very slight breeze ( I read that people are moaning about it a bit) but to be honest it would be uncomfortable doing garden tasks without imo. :phew:

Rest assured I have some cracking 'seats' coming up!!!!:roflol:......boy's ones as well !!!

Have a fab day both of you .xx

                      Good day
It is 56f 12c and the guessers say that along with continuing blazing sun, it will at the least, go up into the high 80's 30c or so. That is a bit much of a swing but they do say that the temperatures will settle down a little over the next few days.

@Upsydaisy that is a LOT of plants you have to plant out! I thought my approximate 200 were really really impressive however :love30:

@Victoria I'm glad J got his medical gurus sorted. I'll never forget years ago, my doctor was going into emergency medicine and giving up his practice. He charged a dollar a page for a copy of my records to take with me! I'm glad they can't get away with that nonsense any more.

I'm meeting a friend for brekkie so it will be a break from my kibble. Maybe I'll have some nice greasy bacon and eggs or sausages and eggs

When I get back, it will be watering and weeding. Although on the way back I may stop and try to find a decent sized fern plant to plonk in a stand. The spot is too shady for the plant that was in it so I moved that and now have a hole to fill.

                      Cheers :coffee:

                          Morning everyone.:)

Lori I don't normally have this many home sown plants to plant out but ,sorry to mention it,.....I did get an alarmingly high germination from a certain seed that was totally unexpected.

Popped round to see my sister yesterday afternoon as it was too warm in our shadeless garden for working in. My cheeky great nephew was there with video clips to show me of his new pets that were bought last weekend, a pair of really cute Guinea Pigs. The little guy goes into hospital on Friday to have his tonsils and adenoids removed ,grommets will be inserted once again in his ears and hopefully he'll be able to stop wearing his hearing aids .:fingers crossed::fingers crossed: He's having the full works done this time ......with of course the promise of lots of soothing post surgery ice creams and jellies !!

Hope to do a bit more planting out but our ground is so dry and rock hard in places, all 6 water butts and both suez bins are completely empty of water now!!

I'm going for an ECG mid afternoon and we might pick up a few groceries on the way back.

                          Have a great day everyone.

Here's one I made earlier. Had to laugh at the guitar!

                            Lovely morning with bird song.

J meeting Donald today for a sandwich and beer. That's all folks.

When he paints the bench black, I suggested he paint the plant stand black too.

                                Good day
It is 64f 16c and the guessers say the high might be a record breaker for today's date.

@Victoria I love that room. It reminds me of way back in the days I had a cottage up at Wasaga beach. Very relaxing.

@Upsydaisy I'm in a long period of dry weather too. And very warm now. Everybody gets watered and I used up my rain water so am now using the hose/town water. My bill will be a nasty one.

I've got lots of little things on my to do list today. And happily not one item is outside of the property so I don't need to go anywhere.

                                Cheers :coffee:
