A window box is still a garden. I like what you're doing. It might inspire others to do something similar.

Ah I didn't know that. Slightly off topic but I have these too which I separated from bulb from my amaryllis mother plant. It was crowded and needing tidied.

I had another 4 but I planted them up in a trough for my mum. I've no idea what to do with them, gift them to more family I suppose. I don't have the space but it'd be a sin to chop them :)

They are healthy plants JJmac, and if your family aren't interested there's bound to be a charitable cause somewhere local to you that you can gift them too.

Hi Sheal, I hope your well and thanks for the reply.

I managed to off load 3 of these amaryllis to a visitor yesterday, and the other 6 have dibs on them I also ordered my 3 herbs for the trough, marjoram, oregano & thyme. I decided against the rosemary as it does need a bit more room than I'm able to provide, but I ordered some catnip for my moggy. I'll get a seperate pot for that too.

I was worried about drainage for these herbs. I'm just using all-purpose compost that I have. I considered mixing in some grit or perlite but my trough has a drainage compartment so I should be OK I think. What do you think?

I have a small rooting aeroponics propagator there and will probably take clones for myself and family as they grow.
