    Morning all.
The smoke from Quebec is down to my area. Its a brown foggy air hazy mess everywhere. Was stronger as we got into Philly yesterday. Amazing how the smoke can carry that far.
Recall once when we were in Key West, smelling smoke and was told in Cuba they were burning the sugar cane fields.
So @CanadianLori can add the smoke travel to Philly, and Southern PA .
Got to take my car into the shop, needs a muffler, more $$$. LOL.
    Have a good day all.

      Nice sparkly one today.

      Good morning everyone. :phew:

I hope you're still getting some much needed rain Vicky:fingers crossed:.

For you Lori I'm hoping your smoke polluted air has cleared..if not yet completely at least hopefully significantly. Must be horrid..........

..........likewise for you too redstar and I hope your car got it's muffler.......whatever that maybe :noidea:.

I had a lovely pub lunch with my friend ,we sat out in their garden area which was very pretty with lots of summer flowers.
We're in the early stages of planning another get together in a fortnight but this time it will include another school friend of ours too, we both haven't seen her for about 4years. It's an exciting one in comparison to our normal pub meet ups.....watch this space, we're getting adventurous in our old age!!Look out world here we come!! ;) :roflol:

Hubs and I are heading into town for the day today as our weather is too hot to do anything in the garden ( 27C). The sea breeze will be lovely hopefully.

Have a super day everyone and enjoy your weather come rain or shine.

Morning all. My current theme is views from the window. Currently I am watching it rain :hapfeet: on the Plumbago and Iochroma. Had light rain through the night and should be blessed with more today.

J is meeting John for their Friday natter but I don't think I will get the planting of my plantlets of Salvia 'Hot Lips' and Actinus Australe Blue which arrived from Spain as I am a Fair Weather Gardener so that is for tomorrow.

Enjoy the sea breeze Upsy! Take care Lori and redstar.

            Morning Vicky.

Not going now ....post above yours. I don't mind really what I do mind is going grocery shopping...I'm sure we'd survive until Monday!!! But as he points out as it stands at the moment Monday is supposed to be just as hot.

Lovely pic,so wish we had some rain the garden is wilting as I post.

            Enjoy your day .xx

Oh no, horrors ... grocery shopping instead of a walk by the sea! :thud: :nonofinger:

I just took a pic looking out at the rain ... I will put it up later after I get up and cycle.

              Keep cool.

Yep...but in this heat I must admit it is a fair walk down to the seafront, made worse by added heat of walking through a city too.

So...maybe a wise move after all as we have to eat...some ice cream re stocking is required too ;) :blue thumb:.

                      Good day
It is 52f and the guessers say the grey cover is mostly rain clouds coming to give us some much needed free water :) And it did not start until after I had taken the rubbish and recycle to the kerb. It is not going to warm up to June like temperatures until very late in the month so jumpers will be the uniform for the next few weeks.

My son is taking his car in for some repairs and I'll be picking him up when he drops his vehicle to the garage and then he can use my van to get around. I have only a wee bit of shopping to do and I'll take the mustang to get that done.

Since the rain is doing my watering for me and I too think that fair weather gardening is sensible @Victoria , anything left to do out there will wait. Why get wet and cold?

@Upsydaisy I don't mind shopping most of the time. I'm one of those people who targets what I want, get it, pay for it and get out. I don't meander around. I can never figure out couples who treat grocery shopping as though it is a sight seeing tour and saunter side by side up and down the aisles blocking others from passing without having to say, "excuse me" , to get them to make way.

                      Cheers :coffee:

                        Morning Lori.
This is exactly how J and I feel/think. They even stop for coffees/drinks, which would make me want the loo! We have a drink before we leave home, get whatever we need to do done, then back home. This goes for Garden Centers too. We have friends who do this but it is not our scene.
Our rain has left us now but thankful for what we received.

Morning all. Still hazy skies. It worries me that the proper sunlight is not getting through for the plants, expecially all the veggies, and corn for cows etc. Chilly today about 73, but nice, like it chilly.
Here is something interesting---Last night at about 8PM I ordered a ink jet replacement on Amazon, at the end it always says when delivery will be expected, on that line it read 6/9/2023 between 4AM and 8AM. I am like, must be reading that wrong. But sure enough, opened my front door at 8:30 AM (my usual thing), and there was the package on the step. Should have left the light on, next time I will.
Car cost to fix was up there this time, but compared to even used cars today, I will just keep it, still goes strong.
Went about with my jugs and watered all my plants in pots, easier than pulling about the hose, too far. I keep full plastice gallon jugs in various places for easy watering.
Hope that rain comes down this far we really need it. @CanadianLori.

                            Morning everyone. :gmorning:

Very pretty view from your window Vicky, makes a nice start to the day. We can see the horses in one of the fields opposite from our bed. I always wish them a good morning.

lori we aren't grocery shopping browsers either we know what we want and where to get it...in and out as fast as we can.:dbgrtmb: Still detest it .

This is the only time I wouldn't stop for a coffee as it would just prolong the agony, but any other time I wouldn't refuse a cafe visit ;). Hubs is never keen unless it's during one of our days out. I love the cafe culture.:coffee:...so do my friends thankfully.

Wow redstar now that is fast service indeed.!!

As some may have seen on another thread I managed to wangle a day out yesterday after all. A lovely one it was too. Pfff...who needs groceries anyway.:dunno:

However I do have a sneaky feeling that we must go today actually as I only have 2 apples left, despite having plenty oranges, pears plums and a ton of kiwis ( I think these are secretly breeding as although we eat them the amount doesn't seem to go down) I must have my daily apple. An apple a day keeps the Dr away ,so they say. :dbgrtmb:

We're in for another hot day today , but at the moment Sunday looks very promising on the rain front....just how much is debatable but beggers can't be choosers and our garden would very gratefully accept any amount.

                            Have a great Saturday everyone.

                              Morning all.

Our rain finished yesterday sadly and we have a bright sunny morning with 18c going to 25c.

J has appointment with Head of Physio Monday who will assess him, decide what he needs and assign to a Physio person. I saw this guy a couple of years ago and my Physio guy was the cutie Rui for 12 sessions. Waiting for appointment from Dentist for jaw ache/pain and ENT appointment. All these and Onco are through "my" hospital now. I have been trying to get him to change for years!

I plan to do a wee bit of gardening today but that's all.

                                Morning Vicky.:)

So glad to hear that J has finally came round to your suggestion of changing his 'go to ' hospital to the more local one near you.....you sowed the initial seed and then had to sit back and wait for it to germinate in it's own time. :heehee:

Not much to do here maybe a bit of dead heading

 and watering but that's all now really.

Just heading out to pop into town for the groceries before the heat hits and the crowds. Normally avoid weekend shopping so 2 yucks for the price of 1 today, oh well best get it over with.

                                Enjoy your day xx
