Morning all, Wednesday, 66F here, overcast and a small drizzle of rain happening right now. 9:30am
Going to focus on inside house stuff for today.
Chess meeting went well, played 2 games, won two games. My group meets at the local library. Found out that the library in the town next to us also has a group that meets. So they are setting up a competition meet mid July. Fun.

And, got a notice from the Court house in Philly that I have been summoned for jury duty, What a pain, as its 49 miles from my house, they offer to pay for hotel stays anyone over 30 miles. This is not till July 18th. But still, I really do not want to do that. The system is you call a number late at night to hear a recording if your number is selected then you report the next day to the court house. Well, I am going to have to travel to Philly mid day --get a hotel room---then call in to see if I am selected, if not I can turn right around and drive back home, they pay for all that. SMH. It must be some special case if they have to reach out so far to find people. Or too many people local knows the case too much to not be fair to the situation.
I really do not like Philly anymore, cities bother me. Just a country girl here.
    Nuts.
    Ok, later.

You know me @Upsydaisy , I knew what you meant and I would never get trollish over stuff like that. Behaviour far too juvenile for my time!

You're looking for cool and I'm wishing for some heat! What a world

Vicky did your plants arrive OK,and did J sort things with the internet provider too ?

Lori I'll send you some of our heat quickly via 1st class post.

redstar I've never been summoned for jury service but if it's the same procedure as you describe then it sounds a bit of an ordeal to go through.

I'm off to the cinema go day go see Chevalier which I've been looking forward to seeing for some time now. 2 for the price of 1 ...classical music and historical life story....should be good.

I'm off on my daily dead heading round before the heat builds up.

      Have a fabulous day.

J had panoramic X-ray. She took out two fillings (recently done) and filled with temporary, to be concluded next Thursday. There are also fractured teeth. J agrees he should have let them do the work when he went before but wanted to go to our old Dentists ... who, by the way, is not there now. and she and new Gal did this recent work. A lot of pain, time and money could have been saved ... a lesson learned.

My plant is stuck in Customs.

                  Good day
It is 56f 12c and cloudy. The guessers say that the clouds will mostly rule the day and at some points a bit of lighting will be thrown in as a bonus. Most of yesterday afternoon was just a big downpour and I'm getting a little tired of the rain however the grass, plants and yes, weeds, love it.

I hope you have a good time at the cinema @Upsydaisy. Myself, I cannot sit through a musical. I think because when I was young and after we got our first used television, the few channels we received were constantly playing old musicals. Over and over and over.

@Victoria I sure hope J gets all of this nasty stuff behind him. :fingers crossed: It seems to me that whenever we have a health care appointment, it screws up the entire day. Must be an age thing!

My to do list is again, small and it is because I just can't decide what to do next. The poor weather doesn't help making decisions either.

Today is the first day of this week's new grocery offers so I may visit a couple of shops and get that over with so when the sun shines, I'm ready to be out there.

                  Cheers :coffee:

Thursday, Morning all. We need a spell check on this. Anyway, its 8:30AM, nice and chilly.
Have some garden things in mind for later, and some food shopping plans.

@Upsydaisy -- I have served on a jury so far 4 times, this is the first one that it way into Philly. all others have been just the little town over one, a 20 min. drive. The last one I served on held a whole week, it was very intense. We ended up sending the guy to jail for his entire life for killing a women. At the end of the week I really felt I needed some type of counseling, or at least to hug a dog, something, it was very hard, even me --who worked in the mental health field for years. The others I have been on were, two days long only. You do meet some interesting people when locked into a room to discuss the case ect. And you given very specific instructions daily by the judge, of what not to say or do, how to line up, where to go. I was allowed to go home. Thank goodness my husband is used to my closed mouth on things anyway, having taken care of people all my career and records to keep priveate.
Maybe because I always vote they call me often. Who knows. I was hoping after that last one I was done forever.

We, just go notice that a friend of ours just passed away so a funeral trip is necessary this coming Saturday, its all the way into Philly, an hour an 15 mins drive for us. It will be a very interesting funeral. This person had a colorful life. He was married, has two adult children. Worked with the Catholic church as a deacon, that person who wears white and helps the Priest do "whatever" they do at the pulpit. (I am not catholic, so pardon any mis-understanding). So he was a deacon for years. We would see him in action at some weddings, or funerals next to the Priest. He'd come by for dinner a few times. Anyway, few years back, he was about 60 years old then, he announced that all his life he thought he was really a women living in a mans body, and wanted to change all that. So he did, he became a "she". And left the church. From what I understand the church disowned him. (or whatever those words are that they say) Immersed himself in that culture with like minded people. He even went though the surgery to make it permanent, and taking the hormone treatments ect. We did not see him/her again once he started the process, husbands choice. So, this will be interesting to attend. I personally just ride the fence on this subject.

OK, well that's it. Have a good day all.

Oh Lori no it's not a musical...I couldn't sit through one of those either.:yikes::roflol:

It's based on his life and the struggles he encountered to prove himself and show his amazing talents both as a musician and composer back in the times when skin colour and backround held many prejudices...even down to the murder of his new born son born to a white woman , due to his skin colour !!

The music comes and goes matching the storyline as it unfolds...mainly as concerts and rehearsals.

Really good, might go and see it again with hubs.:)

                        Good morning .

Oh dear Vicky, poor J he's certainly having tough time of it all lately. Why did he have two of the new fillings removed and replaced with temporary ones ?

Off visiting my brother this morning and will also pick up a few groceries on the way back.

                        Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning all. Another hot day in store for us.

I don't know Upsy and J doesn't query things! He is meeting John as usual today. I shall spend an hour out this morning tending to my Adenium Nursery after cycling and then about two hours sitting out front before dinner after we play cards when the sun gas gone down behind the house.

Trust all will be well with R Upsy and the visit goes well.

                            Good day
It is 57f 13c and fairly cloudy. The guessers say that we will get more sprinkles of rain and later the skies will start clearing to give us a sunny weekend. :)

I too know people who don't seem to have a curious bone in their body @Victoria and it is frustrating to hear that they will just go along with whatever procedures they are told to have without asking any questions. I just can't do that. I've got to know why and how.

Have a lovely visit today @Upsydaisy. I hope your brother is having a "good memory" day.

I have a few things on my to do list. And then I have to go shopping. I have kept putting off going out to get my full list of needs and now it is crunch time. One of my granddaughters has asked to come visit for the weekend and I need more than "old lady" food in the house.

                            Cheers :coffee:
