A hosepipe ban is to be introduced for more than two million people in Kent and Sussex as the country swelters during the current heatwave.

South East Water said it was bringing in the restriction over water shortages in those regions.

Well as far as I'm concerned I will fill my water butts with my hose, these water companies can get stuffed:old:
Until the hundreds/thousands of houses being built are stopped in my area I will do as I please.

Well it was only about 2 weeks ago when we were shivering that they said the water reserves were good due to 2 months of rain in March and April.

The reason they forced us on meters was to conserve water , obviously that didn't work then.
I believe you come under southern water John?

I had to go to the hospital today. Nothing to worry about, just a routine follow up from treatment earlier in the year.

About ten of the limited car park spaces were occupied by four camper vans, and their owners who had set up picnic tables in the spaces they'd left between the vans. They were just sat there, soaking up the sun, in the hospital car park, while people who actually had medical appointments, some of them no doubt for very serious issues, had to park on the curbs or anywhere else they could find.

Thats weird, we have to pay to park at the hospital and I'm pretty sure that if this was going on it wouldn't last long.
Unless they were "travellers", who no laws seem to apply to.

You have to pay at our one too, but if you 'lose' your ticket you just pay the maximum day rate, which is about seven quid.

But that's another thing that mildly annoyed me. I paid 3 quid to validate my ticket so I could get out. Window down, slowed ready to put my ticket in, barrier just opened, so I could have got away without paying if I'd known.

Thing is though, why rock up there? It's hardly scenic. I wonder how their conversation went this morning.

What shall we do on this beautiful day?

Oh I know, let's have a lovely day out in the hospital car park.

I think I'd have a moan at the hospital or the parking company about this, hospital parking is always difficult and these idiots need to be moved on.

I intended to have such a moan, only I couldn't find a relevant person to moan to. There's usually someone at the main entrance that handles such matters, but not today.

My son bought me a garden clock for Father's Day, but will have to be returned. It automatically synchronises to a radio signal so is never wrong, unfortunately it synchronises to the Frankfurt signal so always shows German time. It is possible to manually set it but at midnight it reverts to an hour ahead.

Apparently Aldi were selling a similar clock and customers were returning them for the same reason.

I've heard Germany is very nice in parts. You could move there and then your clock would be right.
