    Hello

    Thanks for the Replies.

    @CanadianLori

Thanks for the kind Words, I try :)

I am still learning but I am getting there.

    @Sheal

We shall see, hopefully the Lawn recovers, it is not the best Weather to be doing Top Dressing but it is what it is :)

Once it recovers, I will move on to sorting out the minor Dips around the Lawn.

Also, the Lawn Levelling Lute made things much easier, and quicker.

I am still waiting on the New Rosemary to be Delivered.

Once it is I will get it Planted.

Also, is Sage a Mediterranean Plant?

i have Sage Purpurascens and Sage Icterina and am trying to work out their Water requirements.

    Thanks

    Kevin

      Hi Kevin,

It seems it's going well with the lawn. :)

Yes, Sage is Mediterranean but it's not a plant I know much about.

      Hello @Sheal

      Thanks for the Reply.

Having confirmation that Sage is a Mediterranean Plant gives me a starting point regarding Watering.

This is how the Front Lawn is now looking:

      20230617_123710.jpg

It is getting there, although there are still some smaller Dips that I need to address.

Also, if you look in the Top Left of the Photo there is a section of Lawn, approximately 3' long that seems to be Higher than the rest, I am undecided on how to address that section, do I Lift the Turf, remove some Soil and then Replace the Turf or do I just build up the Level either side of it, building up the Level would seem the easier Option but am not sure.

      Thanks

      Kevin

It looks perfect to my eye but I understand not to yours.

Regarding the piece of lawn that's higher. I suggest you lift the turf and remove soil from below it. If you build up the lawn either side, it's likely that won't be level with the rest of the lawn, so in turn you would have to level it all again.

        Hello @Sheal

My Eye for Detail is really Nice to have but it can be really annoying, at times :)

This Morning, I had a closer look at the section of Lawn that looked Higher, and it would seem that it is not actually Higher than the surrounding Lawn.

The Grass in that section had grown over the Edging Stones creating a False Perspective.

I have Trimmed the Grass on the whole Edge and this is how it looks now:

        20230618_094431.jpg

It now looks more Level, the Shadow created by the Japanese Spurge is having a similar effect.

Actually, while I was trimming the Lawn Edge I noticed that there is actually a Dip to the Left of the Japanese Spurge approximately 12" Long, so another Area that I need to Address.

        Thanks

        Kevin

        Hi Kevin,

It looks good to me and a bonus for you not having to lift the turf. It may be worth your while lifting the turf by the Spurge and under filling with soil. The opposite of what was intended in the other area. :)

        Hello @Sheal

The Dip to the Left of the Spurge can just be Top Dressed to Level it, no removal of the Turf is required.

With the Lawn Levelling Lute it will only take a couple of Minutes.

I will wait though until the Weather turns as the Grass is not currently growing and I need it to grow well in order to grow through the Top Dressing.

I have also received the 2L Rosemary Today so that has been Planted in the Back Garden in the South Facing Border, hopefully, this one will Thrive.

        Thanks

        Kevin

        Hi Kevin,

        Easily done then.

I don't think you'll have long to wait for the weather to turn. It's not looking good further down the country this week. Up here I'll be right on the edge of the rain, so we may or may not get a soaking.

I hope the Rosemary does well. :)

        Hello @Sheal

We had a Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain Yesterday so that certainly helped, very Humid though and I do not handle Humidity well.

This will be the Third Rosemary, the First one Died, the Second one was Fatally Damaged during the Landscaping Last Year when a 900mm x 600mm Sandstone Slab fell on it and the Rosemary could not get out of the way quick enough, then this one.

        Hopefully, this one establishes well.

        Kevin

It's often humid here even in winter and today it's at 93% - not unusual.

May your Rosemary's rest in peace and let's hope this one survives. :)

        Hello @Sheal

Thanks for the commiserations regarding the Rosemary :)

I had a go at Pruning the Ceanothus in the Front Garden.

It had finished Flowering and had grown slightly unruly.

I have Pruned it into a kind of Block Shape, kind of.

Tidying up the Ceanothus has uncovered a couple of Penstemon that were being smothered, hopefully now that they are more in the Open they will start to Grow.

This is how the Area looks now:

        Thanks

          Hi Kevin,

I noticed some blue flower heads above the Ceonothus although I can't see them clearly, have you got a Veronica there?

You've had rain too, can you send some my way please? :)

          Hello @Sheal

The Purple Flower Heads belong to a Salvia to the Left of the Ceanothus.

I wish I could send you some of the Rain I had as it jumped straight over the Guttering on the Neighbours Garage and caused Flooding on the Garden Border below it.

Why the Garage and another Neighbours Extension was built so close to the Boundary Line I do not know but it was certainly inconsiderate of them.

I do enjoy Thunderstorms though, I like to stand at the Door and watch them :)

It hadn't occurred to me they were Salvia flowers.

I wonder if the neighbours guttering is blocked? My bungalow has a steep roof and moss often washes into the gutters, it's a nuisance. We had the roof sprayed two years ago to clear it all but there's still some left up there.

Thunderstorms scare me after having two previous homes struck by lightning.

            Hello @Sheal

The Guttering is not Blocked but it has not been fitted properly.

It only has Two Brackets supporting it, one at each end, so, when it Rains the Middle Section Sags restricting the Water Flow.

It needs to be sorted but the Neighbour to whom the Garage belongs is not easy to Talk to.

            Thanks

            Kevin
