    Good day
It is 60f 14c and the sky is hazy. The guessers are saying it is a mix of clouds and smoke :frown: The good part is that because it is not raining I can now get a bit of time to play with my car electrics to try to trace that problem.

@Upsydaisy I must have missed the part about stowing seat cushions. Just a small bit of information, I made covers for all of my chairs and the bench and throw those on when rain is predicted. The cushions do get stowed in the cellar over winter though. They are on their third set of covers as I got bored with the colours. They are now bright stripes in Sunbrella fabric and I zipper everything so I can throw them in the washer if they get spilled on.

Yesterday was messed up as the dishwasher decided to leak. I had to bail it out and locate an issue with the pump. Then run a cycle to make sure my fix had worked. Even the economy cycle seems to take forever and of course I couldn't go out until it was finished and no further leaks were detected.

I did finally get my supplies in yesterday to make enough gluten free flour mixed for 12 batches of chocolate chip cookies. Outside of the grocery store, the garden center had their perennials marked down. I grabbed three more plants for the back of the new garden. I hope I'll be able to plant everything out on Friday as the guessers say we're going to get wet again over the weekend.

    Cheers :coffee:

Morning Lori. Okay, show us what you got.

We just hit 30c//86f so J has decided to go shopping tomorrow when it may be cooler. He watered the big pots earlier and I did my nursery plants just after 10am.

I just ordered a Philips Air Fryer from Amazon Spain as it is on sale for £80 free post. Our 10 year old is still working but .. Also ordered some Brillo pads as you can't get them here, according to J!

I rarely use any "scrubbies" since I started with "Dawn Powerwash" - it is the muscle bound version of their dish soap and it really softens up anything stuck to a pan.

I shall try to remember to take a pic of the plants before they go in. Some are a little sad but I know they'll perk up when they get a home.

            Morning all, Wednesday.
Yes, @Upsydaisy , I have in the past dragged the cushions all into the sunroom, piling them up prior to a rain storm, just sometime I say, "oh, heck with it", Rained again last night. Mine are all out of Sunbrella fabric also. All outdoor cushions get stored in the gazebo during the winter in big plastic boxes, same with all the cushions on the chairs in the gazebo. No real room anymore in the basement. (that needs a good cleaning out). ---but most is husband issues, LOL. I try to sneak stuff to the trash when I can. Actually he has in the past taken some of the antiques we have down there to an auction for a goodly sum return.

@Victoria, there is something about after 59 years old and you sell your own home you can keep all the gains, but for rentals its a special form, and a very strict timeline to identify the property to buy, and there is an intermediary company you have to use to protect yourself. And then further regulations after to show active rental in the new bought home etc. And we can only "stay" there two weeks a year, otherwise keep documentation that we are working on it etc/, those are lifted after 3 years, can then stay longer if wish. But, personally even the home in New Bern is lovely, I love my home up in PA more.

Well onward with my day, see what I can get into . Take care all.

@Upsydaisy , salads, Last year I discovered how good sliced peaches and sliced tomatos with some balsamic v. was together. awesome.

As far as Taxes, not every state taxes the same. Some states give a reduction to senior citizens on property tax, and different capital gains tax.
People sometime will research what state they wish to move to to save money on income etc.

                    Morning everyone. :)

And I'm happy to say that it's a delightfully wet one too...or rather was wet, the sun is back out now.

I can literally hear nature rejoicing it all the glorious soggy dampness.

We're off to visit my brother this morning then going on to Winchester for the afternoon which will include stopping off somewhere for lunch. No shopping is needed so it'll be a very leisurely stroll around.

That's about it nothing else on the agenda for today.

                    Have a good one.

                      Stone Pine (Pinus pinea)

Morning all. It was a very gusty/windy night and we are under a warning that it will continue with the heat.

So pleased you have had some rain Upsy ... only a pipedream here. Enjoy your visit and outing.

Great buy on plants Lori, but I can't read the labels either.

J put off shopping twice/thrice already this week but must go today.

                          Good day
It is 55f 11c which is nearly a record low for this time of year. There are only a few wisps in the sky which will make for a lovely day as the guessers say it will only be going up to 75f 21c.

@Upsydaisy that sounds like a really lovely day out. @Victoria I hope it cools down a little for you.

The good deals I got are a pink columbine, a white one, a tickseed and a plant similar to a gallairdia (can't remember the name this second) and the bleeding heart.

I've got to get myself out to quick pick up some items that are on offer and which I really need. The shops don't open for another 1/2 hour or so which means I have time to quick catch up on the news before I go to shop and then after, go out for the day.

I am going to a town about 1 1/2 hours north of me along with 6 of my friends. 3 of them are carpooling with me which always make the drive more fun. We're going to lunch at a country cafe and then a wander around the area. I take a small stool with me so as to give the ladies a step up into the van. Just makes things a bit easier.

                          Cheers all :coffee:

Good Morning all. 8AM here on a Thursday. No rain last night, but suppose to later today.

@Victoria . Brillo Pads--many years ago my Home Ec. teacher taught us to cut them in half and to only use half at a time, it really works and saves money, rarely I need more than half to do any job. So it is an automatic thing when I get a new box to cut them all in half first, normal scissors work fine. I have tried those "Mr. Clean" pads, don't work for me.

And back to the Taxes thing, wish all states would stop the "school tax" thing, for folks that did not have children, enough already.

@CanadianLori --sounds like a grand time a bunch of ladies together strolling about. Awesome.
My favorite garden nursery is having a customer appreciation day next week, major cuts in price on all plants, so its planned that we will go and pick up some plants.
And, I would love to bake more, but my skinny husband does not eat a lot of bakery items. Just made a small pan of brownies the other day, and if he had one, that is something, I certainly do not need the calling of calories.

Husband is going to an auction today, I might join him later. We are always looking out for some items to add to the airbnb, or to just take there to store for later. Just had an interest from a boating family to dock their boat at our dock. So we have to make sure the electric is up to snuff for them. I have been wanting to build a type of fish cleaning station at the end of the dock also. Just for information, if a boat were to sail down the Ocean, they can head into an inlet, and then hook to the river that is where our dock is. I have also wanted to attach something crazy on our dock as an easy locator for folks, like a colorful Bird, or maybe just a flag would work.
Speaking of items for the airbnb, just got some second handed decorative pillows the other day, in awesome shape. Going to revamp one of the bedrooms when we get there in August. Have new bed spread already etc.

Well, back to that one garden bed area today to work at it. Take care all.
