It was a strange winter. One of my neriums from @noisette47 cutting survived fine in a pot, whereas a standard cistus in the soil just died.

If the owners have got the patience, it would most likely resprout from the roots We saw them regenerating in a field where there'd obviously been a fire, in Greece, so the roots are just about indestructible :) It's heartbreaking though when a big, healthy shrub is reduced to that.....

Yeah, I think the roots are probably still alive, it will be a while getting back.

The single pink I have in the ground suffered a little during the Winter but is just starting to get moving now.

So much for 'climbing frangipani'! The Chonemorpha fragrans has finally opened it's first flower. Much more like Mandevilla than Plumeria, but it does have a lovely fragrance... 20230630_092817.jpg

It spent last winter in my garage, front door open at all opportunities, it just needs frost free, but I try to give it as much light as I can.
Last winter was particularly difficult because of the two or three really bad spells of low temperatures.

In a normal winter it could survive ok in something like your greenhouse but perhaps some bubble insulation to provide a microclimate within.

Mrs C looks after this Orchid.
It has been given up for dead a few times; but always manages to recover

It's a job to know what's 'exotic' and what's ordinary in UK now, but here are a few of the summer stars at the moment
