I like both looks but to me the 'today' one looks more natural, although I wouldn't personally let it become even more overgrown than it is now.

The overgrown look does creep up on you if you are not careful.

Looks more manicured back in the day and the the current pic has got a more tropical vibe going on. Maybe get some of the edges back but don't let the barber get carried away. Overgrown gives you the benefit of a bit more privacy but its sometimes nice to see the lines and boundaries more visible, plus gaining that extra light. Your garden looks like it is versatile enough to accommodate both styles. Cool garden

No you dont, your just saying that:biggrin:, must admit when I saw that old picture again I had to convince myself it was the same place, and I'm slightly in two minds myself, but what's done is done, you cant go back.

Actually, I do. I just have a preference, that’s all. If I had the space (like I did at my last place), I’d have several different themes. I guess I’d say I play it fairly safe with my garden, pretty traditional. I’d love to have the vision to create something really nice, but lack of space means I’d end up with something half-baked (AKA pigs ear:biggrin:). I just play it safe.
