If you do online shop the driver may also take it back with them, that sign is on a lot of packaging, i get 1 bread bag then anything with that sign on the packaging goes into the bread bag then when full and i go shopping i take it to the shop and there is a cage on 1 side of the shop and i throw it in, don't take long at all

This is going to make me sound ancient.

I'm annoyed at the youth. Firstly I'm annoyed that they blame every perceived problem in the world on the older generations, despite the fact that every generation before then did their best to make the world a better place. Ok, not every individual, but society as a whole.

But also it's the sense of entitlement. Wanting high pay for unskilled entry level jobs.

When I was 14, I got a job cleaning an ice cream parlour, for a whopping one quid per hour, but I had to finish it properly within that hour, because I wouldn't get paid any more if it took longer, or at all if it wasn't done properly. When I was 16 I got a weekend job cleaning a nightclub. I had to polish all the brass handrails, clean the carpets and dancefloor, clean the whole bar area, and toilets, restock the fridges and sort the bottles for recycling (yes youth of today, we recycled before you). I did this for a fiver a day.

But guess what. I appreciated the work. I had some spare time, and I sold that spare time for some money. But I didn't sell all of my spare time, I sold some of it, and used some of it to actually study in my own time, often without someone telling me what I must memorise, and I gradually built myself a career, starting right at the bottom where I'd often be ignored, sometimes mocked, and paid very little, but I was soaking up the experience and building on it.

If that sounds pretty hard, the start of my working life sounds like a walk in the park compared to my parents and grandparents. The youth of today have more opportunities than any generation before them, and they get so much offered to them on a plate. Yet somehow it is not enough, and it's everyone else's fault.

I've just scrutinized a bread wrapper, as you do when bored, and yes I see the sign now, I thought it would have been bigger.
I shall keep a look out, the delivery drivers only seem to take the bags that the shopping comes in, which they refund you 10p a bag for.

This could end up sounding like that old sketch, the 4 Yorkshire men, but I started work at 15 and got £4/0/11d. a week.
For some reason after the first 6 months I got a rise £4/1/1d, :roflol:

Use any larger (cabbage, bread...) bags to put other ones in, plus any crisp bags, film lids or other things that say "recycle at recycling point" then tie them off, then when I've got a few, take them to Aldi and push them into their recycling container by the door.

The giant Tesco is the big store nearest us, two towns away from us, and they had a very large recycling area near where we drive in. The area is still there but almost all their recycling bins have gone and it only leaves four large bins that are Salvation Army clothes and shoes bins. Nothing else. So those bags get put into the rubbish bin. :dunno:

I know you might think I talk a load of rubbish half the time but I use the one bottle bank we have left around here, it's supposed to be bottles/jars and there are two clothing charity containers there as well but this is what it mostly looks like, half the time you can't get to the bottle containers. They clear it and next day another lot gets dumped there. 20230503_104932.jpg 20230503_104941.jpg

I'm thinking that they could put a camera on the area, but that would mean they would just dump it on the grassy area over the road, you cant really win with these kinds of people as shooting on sight is not allowed.
