    When they're tiny, two or three inches long, when the beans themselves are still small, or let them grow on a bit to get larger beans? If some other stage, what?

    When they are ready :biggrin:
    If you are unsure pick one pod and see what's inside.
    I like to get them at around full size but before they get hard.
    Some people probably like them a bit smaller.

    I see in your poll you mention eating pod as well, never heard of that my self.

      I have heard of cooking and eating small whole pods. but never tried it. I like mine as small to medium size beans before they get too big and pld to have tough skins although I have heard of people skinning them, you can also puree larger beans after cooking and removing skins.
