Won't it depend on the cause and nature of the foot pain?

No I haven't tried it pete. My foot swells a bit occasionally but only since I had knee surgery last year ,so I don't think it will do anything for that.....still it might be worth a go

I renewed mine recently. It was less than a tenner more than last year. It rose by lower than inflation.

Is there any context behind the headline? Is this in a specific area? Is it people switching from ICE to EV?

There was a feature on TV about it the other day. The usual explanation of cars are much more expensive with that affected the premiums, dearer parts, labour costs up a lot, more accidents than ever, office overheads and power increasing considerably etc.

I think that insurance companies do really quite well, profit wise, similar to banks.
Maybe they could try soaking up some of the higher costs?

There is lots of money being made out of this crisis.

This is what I was thinking. Anecdotally, I've noticed that people seem to be going for better cars than used to be the case. You hardly ever seen a clapped out old banger anymore. Everyone seems to be in Audis and other traditionally premium brands now. And much newer too. No doubt linked to the rise in lease deals. I'm not knocking it. I just think it's an inevitable truth that if you go for a better car, you'll have to pay more insurance.

Of course that's not to say the insurance companies won't rip people off. I realised many years ago that for the most part, insurance is just a legal form of theft.

I heard the bloke who started up "The Bank of Dave" a few years ago on the TV lunchtime say, "people who rob banks get put in prison, banks who rob people get a bonus".

Just in time for my renewals! Just because car prices have gone up doesn't make me a worse driver so why the heck should I pay more? If I have a crash at my fault then fair enough but why am I paying extra to cover other people's accidents?

Because that is how insurance works.
We all pay for the possibilities rather than what actually happens.
The NCD has some effect, but not much.

I think it often revolves not around the damage to your vehicle but more about personal injury that you could be responsible to others, and if they sue the pants off you.
