Good morning , I hope everyone is well. :)

Vicky your Hibiscus is stunning and I agree it is a wonderfully delicate shade. Gorgeous.:imphrt:

Oh that was a real shame Lori, have they actually stopped selling plants/ gardening related stuff then?

redstar we have a big store very similar that I use to go to when I was working. It wasn't open to the general public only for businesses, you had to get a trade card and present it each time you went. I was self employed and hubs ( and I ..on paper only) had our own business too. It was great and sold such a huge range of things, toilet rolls, paper hand towels , and disinfectant, wipes nappies ( diapers) were always top of my list as in childcare you got through tons!! I also use to buy professional sized laundry washing liquid and conditioners too as young children use to have daily naps in both cots and beds so bedding had to be washed after each use. Brilliant discounts.:dbgrtmb:

We had a lovely day yesterday and once again spoke with all the brood... pleased to hear that our youngest had a fabulous time despite the intense heat out in southern Italy.

Not sure what's on the agenda today I may go round to my sister's today.... or tomorrow :noidea: as I have a card for her to deliver to someone that she is going to be seeing over the weekend.

    Have lovely day

I have a Double Peach similar to yesterday's Hibiscus and also one similar the todays but with a rounder petal.

Nice and fresh this morning at 20c with a breeze nut back into the 30s later.

We have a Makro here, had one in Reading. We both have cards but rarely use it.

J has Dentist this morning!!!! Nothing else planned as he will have a sleep and eat ice cream all afternoon.

      Have a good one.

Morning all, nice over night rain . (Wednesday).

@Upsydaisy , The restaurant store here, they do not require a "trade" card.

11Am getting a Pedicure, finally. need one. I take my color with me, so to be able to "fix it " if need.
One of my friends who lives in Kentucky will be also meeting up with us in Louiseville, KY at the car show. We Earth Viewed the area, it is huge, so glad we are getting there two day before the show. Lots to make sure its organized. This is the first show that we are gettng lots of Emails about etc, have a feeling this one will be better organized that the others, maybe the 10 to 15 thousand cars showing up made them get it together.

Ok, well off to do something. Take care all.

          Morning everyone.:gmorning:

Not a lot to share as we just enjoyed a quiet day at home yesterday, out in the garden for the majority of the day.

The schools break up on Friday for their 6wk Summer hols so we probably won't be going out on so many day trips as it will be bedlam everywhere!! I think it will be more a case of going on some nice secluded local walks for the next few weeks. :dbgrtmb:

I had a coffee and cake catchup planned with an old work colleague ( we try to meet up every couple of months) but she unfortunately hurt her foot while digging in her garden. As it remained quite painful she booked an appointment to get it checked out and found that she has fractured some bones in her foot!! :yikes: She has been instructed to take it easy and rest up for 6weeks, her hubs is waiting for hip surgery and now has to use a walking stick so she said they make a right old pair of hobblers at the moment.:heehee: Poor loves.:grphg:

I hope you've all got nice weather ,we have for a few more days then it looks a bit iffy from Saturday onwards....just in time for the start of the holidays. Poor parents!! I'm glad those days are long gone....not that I didn't enjoy the school hols...I did, but not on wet days.:sad:

          Have a great day.

            Morning all.

It is a fresh 18c with a light breeze. Although we have gone out of our high temp warning, we will still go to the low 30s today.

I am hoping to get a couple of plants repotted today if J can assist, but he has a painful foot this morning.

We were just saying yesterday we wondered when schools broke up ... I know it is different in different regions ... the shops will be a nightmare here as all the family joins in the adventure ... glad I don't go out!

Thursday, 8:45Am here, rained again last night. 73f here.

Nice to meet with your former co-worker, @Upsydaisy , once in a blue moon I connect with a couple of mine, but nothing for a long time. Taked with one on the phone yesterday, she caught me up on all the changes.
On the next trip to the Car Show in Louisville, KY, one of my friends who lives in Covington, KY will be driving up to Mason, Ohio, to meet up with me, its a one hour drive. Have not seen her in a few years. But, I checked the map, and her address and felt if I did not tell her our route, and she find out, she might feel bad not being able to get the chance of meet up. If she could'nt do it, then, its ok with me. I feel honored when someone goes out of their way for me like that. Tells me what they really think of you. 10 days to go before we leave.

BTW--do any of you have "Google Earth Pro: on your desktop. its really neat. In fact, your location, @Victoria , interested me, so I pluged it in to see what the area looked like, its really neat. Helps me when I have to look at the parking lot sizes, and surrounding area of the hotel, the driveways, etc. I also have looked at my childhood home etc. My house is hard to see due to all the trees. But its a neat little site. Cost nothing to upload as I recall. I used it when I planned my trip to Scotland, so I could see where the Inn was with relation to whatever. So when the bus stopped in front of it, I could say, Yep, that's the place.

            Have a grand day all.

Morning Redstar. I have Google Earth on my Notebook (small laptop). I you click on the member's location you automatically get a map. I a very rural, in orange grove country but 20 minutes to the sea and 20 minutes to the mountains. I don't like cities. Silves, the capital of our county is big enough for me.

That sounds beautiful. I also do not like cities. My little town, does not even have what one would call a "town center", or just blink your eyes and maybe that is it. My location says Chester County, PA. actual town name is Parkesburg, PA. maybe for the fun of it I'll see what plugging that in comes up to look like. thanks.

Just think no more laundry...origami clothes!!!

                Good morning .:)

Another quiet day here.....I feel lost not having anything to do out in the garden..it's just ticking along doing what it's suppose to be doing ...blooming!!

We did go for a nice walk yesterday morning. In the afternoon old friends of ours video called us and we had a 2 hr chat!! We haven't seen them for 6 years( in person) as they live up in Yorkshire and of course we had the pandemic too. Fortunately modern technology allows us to make video calls so easily .We can make and receive such calls via the phone, my tablets, laptop and ,what we like best, our TV .
Using our TV screen makes it feel like they're in the room with us..we made cuppa and they did too and we sat there just chatting away. :dbgrtmb:

We might go back into Southampton today as they hold a market on Fridays down by what remains of the Bargate and the old city walls. Nice place to wander through. We'll probably eat out of we do decide to go.

That's my plans for the day, I hope you have a good day too.

                  Morning all.

Origami if fascinating. Also the craft using string, for wall hangings, dream catchers etc ... sorry, too early and can't think of the name!

Sounds like a wonderful visit with your friends Upsy ... I assume you mean long term rather than aging?!!!

J meeting up with John today and taking him one of the big pink Brugmansias which has flowered already twice this year. J suffered all day yesterday with his foot having to take strong pain killers and keep it iced. Think it is gout which he has suffered with before.

That's all from here. I have no specific plans, cycling them going out for an hour or so to catch some filtered rays. Our temp should not reach 30c today.

                    I think you're referring to

                    Macramé - Wikipedia

Yes we've known them for 45 years.

We're just heading out now for the day...with an umbrella !

Have a restful day xx :)

                        Good day
                        It is 65f and sunny.

I apologize for my absence and it is because I am just incredibly busy right now. And will be for a couple of weeks so you might not see much of me for a bit. Just be assured, the busyness is only good things.

I'm glad everyone seems to be in good health and enjoying our summer gardens.

                        Cheers all :coffee:
