Went for a cuppa around my brothers this morning. On the way back - got into a conversation with one of my neighbours - as usual we ended up talking about plants - so I invited her for a look at the garden. She said that it was like "another world" when she clapped eyes on the back garden. Which I am taking as a positive. .I don't think she meant another world like Beirut....

She also said that I should open it up the paying public to make a few quid... No chance of that.

Aww that was a lovely complement @clanless . We've received the same too from people passing by who have suggested that we open up ours as well.

      Not going into that though.

The layout of our plot means that all the main section is visible from our lane, especially during the summer when we keep the hedges to a lower height and the blooms are all in full force.

Lovely comments are very appreciated and encouraging aren't they.

Decided on the spur of the moment to head out for Salisbury this morning..... it proved not a wise decision at all.:thud: . We missed our link up bus in another nearby market town and discovered the next one was 1:5 hours away. This would have meant that we wouldn't arrive at our destination until early afternoon, so we decided to go to good old Southampton for some sea air and lunch. We had never travelled this route to it before and if I can help it ..we never will again!! What a long winded way of getting there and in lunchtime traffic too......it took absolutely ages.

The only good thing today was lunch!!:heehee:

I did pop into the bus company's travel office and pic up about 20 new timetables....so I will have fun planning our future adventures a bit further afield.

We find is so relaxing .....well apart from today :rolleyespink:. I haven't driven for years so it's a much better experience for my hubs, no parking issues to worry about.:dbgrtmb:

Trawling through Youtube last night. Came across a nugget of gardening advice that I had never thought of. This is it:

If you feed annuals from the start - they will produce lots of lush green growth and no flowers. The reason being, if they have ideal growing conditions - why bother to produce flowers/seeds. So the idea is to plant your annuals - wait for the first flower buds to appear and then feed. Makes sense to me...

Over here, where I live, I think there is one bus that goes by at the end of my street. But in general no buses around, until you go way into the city, Philly that is. Or other cities.
Last time I was on a bus was when I was in Scotland, 4 years ago, and that was first time in ever who knows. Found it quiet neat actually, and my cell phone helped with telling me what number to take next to go where I wanted to go. The only thing I needed help with was the coins, but I had the hotel help me make correct piles of coins, each pile in my jean pockets. @Upsydaisy .

The best bit for us redstar is that we don't need coins or card..... as we now get free bus travel. :dbgrtmb: That's what we find now is a fitness bonus as we don't have nearby buses and have to walk a bit of a distance to catch one.

I guess that would be a bonus to walk like that to catch the bus. I am going to have to make note when I drive out today if the little bus sign is on the post still at the end of our street, have not seen someone standing there in a long time, or seen a bus wizzing by. Have no clue the cost, never used it, don't plan on it.

Packed up the dried bounty of a recent foray, the ceps are popping up now so thought I'd take advantage. That monster was too far gone to take unfortunately

Yes, it was extremely infested. I don't mind a bit of extra protein and it's par for the course when picking most wild mushrooms but I have a limit!

Busy day today. Gave the car a good clean - snow foam - pressure wash - polish - tyre and trim treatment - glass cleaned - checked and adjusted tyre pressures. All ready to go and see my Great Nephew tomorrow. We're taking over a dinosaur colouring book and coloured pencils as last time we went to see him we spent time quietly colouring in one of his books.
